ReAttach LED light to pool wall

Ok so drained the spa. Interestingly the pipes between the spa return and pool skimmer suction seem to be connected - ie I drained spa and noticed water come in the spa return. Is that normal? Attached are pics of the wall. To me it looks rendered in? Any thoughts as to a best way forward?

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

Thanks! Ok I’m impatient now and have this on my mind. On Wednesday I plan to drain the spa fully (I can’t help but be worried that the pool being full will cause spa wall to collapse!) I am fairly certain that the pool light wall ring is plastered into the spa wall, and it’s tiled over...

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

Yep it’s definitely not silicone but some plastic mount that has deteriorated. I guess it took 30 years. The main pool mounts are in better condition but are going the same way. So assuming the ring goes behind the tiles, is there any way to attach a new one without removing tiles? Can a...

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

I’d agree. Here are some more photos of new light. The little holes allow water to flow behind the light. I’m wondering if what I see leftover in the pool is one of these - Aquaquip Pool light SM Rending Ring for Concrete Swimming Pools that has deteriorated over 30 years. Which would tie into...

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

I think there used to some plastic frame that once sat there that had deteriorated. I can easily remove that but have a look at this photo of the new light. See all the holes, this allows water to flow behind the light I assume to keep it sanitised back there. So ultimate question now to drill...

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

Thanks Jim. So there is no issues in drilling a hole in the concrete shell, putting in a wall anchor like below and screwing the light frame into it? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ramset-50m-plastic-spaghetti-wall-anchor-roll_p2263604

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

By the way, obviously the new light is led and screwed into the existing plastic wall mount. The light that is on the pool floors still has the wall mount attached. Can I simply mount that wall mount to the wall or does it need the new plastic frame to replace the one deteriorated

ReAttach LED light to pool wall

My spa LED light has been pulled off the wall by my pool robot. The wall screws have pulled out of the plastic frame on the pool wall. Is it safe to empty my spawater into the pool or is there a risk of the walls collapsing, eg do I need to empty all water? My pool depth is about 1.5 on the...

    Replumbing all pump/suction/return PVC lines

Thanks! Yes two inch for the suction side and 1.5 inch for return side. How do I cap the air Venturi line ? (ignore the blower that is separate) I guess not having this working as yet means I don’t know for sure what it should look like and function. Certainly edging towards a partial drain...

    Replumbing all pump/suction/return PVC lines

Thank you! Yes I plan to make it all functional to restore it to its former 1980s glory! I haven’t used the jets as yet, I’ll attach a pump to it once I have put new piping on. Air blower is to replace one of my two there - they are also 1980s glory and about 400 decibels! It seems I have two...

    Replumbing all pump/suction/return PVC lines

Thank you for the feedback! You’ve given me some confidence - although I’m leaning towards a drain of the pool. I have to replace a pool light cable as well - so I might drain to below the light and deal with this at the same time!

    Replumbing all pump/suction/return PVC lines

All, To fix a broken valve, I am replacing all above ground pipes. Its 1980s pool and figure its a good time to refresh it all. Photos should just digging out around the entrance to the pumphouse. I'll be using 50mm Jandy (3-way) valve for suction side, and 40mm Jandy (3-way) to return lines...

Water slightly cloudy due to borax

Sorry I got my TA and PH around the wrong way. I used it to raise my PH. The above results were after borax was added. It was 24 days ago I added it. I noticed today that my FC is dropping each day, and it’s because a bottlebrush tree overhead of my pool is dropping its organic matter and...

Water slightly cloudy due to borax

Ok, first time I put in borax I got cloudy water, I can’t remember what I did back then as it pool ownership was still new roll around to about 2 weeks ago and put in borax again (1kg) to reduce TA without impacting PH, and it’s been slightly cloudy ever since. The level of cloudiness hasn’t...
