My Astralpool Victoria Plus pump has started tripping the control panel fuse, my pool is over twenty years old and this is my third pump, they all seem to do this after a few years, I can't find a reason for this so I'm thinking this time of buying a vari-speed pump, but I don't want to break...

Are you sure it's copper and not iron?

I have had the pool for twenty years without any metal problems until a couple of years ago, the point of my post is to show that sequestered metal "can" be removed from the water without the need for any other chemicals i.e. Sequestrant which just suspend the metal........for ever !!!

A couple of years ago my indoor liner pool developed brown staining at the deep end, I bought commercial pool stain remover, it removed the stain but it came back after a few days throughout the whole pool and including the steps etc, I tried this a few times and also by adding products to keep...

I was once told that fine glass filter medium works better than sand, it probably does for normal filtration but I don't know how true this is as it would need to be very fine to catch metal.

Filtering is I think the best way to go but as yet I've seen no method for filtering sequestrant metal after AA treatment as I'm told that Polyfill won't work?

I've tried that, it means adding chemicals to keep the metal suspended.......for ever! There is a solution somewhere, the only other method would be to drain the pool, clean the liner with an AA solution and refill?

I think that works with heavily contaminated (brown water) but doesn't take out the sequestered iron that I have!

Thanks for the replies, appreciated! I've had my indoor pool for over twenty years without any problems. especially brown staining, there's no iron in contact with the water but about two years ago there was a mains water repair in our village but a mile away from my house, the mains water went...

I have a brown liner stain throughout the pool, I have been able to remove the (iron) into the water but even with a product like "No more Metal" it creeps back, surely with todays technology there's a way of removing it out of the water? :)
