Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

Yep. Followed the directions on the TF 100 placard and shook it really well when I added the R-0013 and then after 30 seconds gave it another really good long shake. Dot never came close to fading out.

Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

Thanks. Typically I would do the dry CYA in the sock method but in this case I wanted to get the CYA in without waiting for the dry to be fully dissolved. Based upon my pool size I think one gallon will get me close to a CYA of 30. I do have some dry if I need to bump it up some but won't...

Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

CYA is probably zero since the black dot never disappeared. Salt is 600 which brought my CSI down to -.16. Not too worried about salt now as I typically won't fire up the SWG until late March. Can I add both CYA and Chlorine at the same time? I actually have a jug of liquid CYA. Should I...

After bringing up FC and CYA should I run the filter pump 24hrs for a couple days?

Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

Newdude, could use your advice after the drain and refill. So, after replacing about 78% of the water my readings are as follows: FC 1.5 PH 7.8 TA 80 CH 225 - down from 650 so overshot the target a bit. CSI is -.43 I haven't checked CYA yet but I imagine it's pretty low. So, wondering...

Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

Looking at my logs on pool math I did dip below 4 to 3 (which at the CYA of 40 I would be at the min) a couple of times so perhaps. I have managed the CSI pretty well but still get some scaling and flakes off the SWG during the summer. Did an OCLT and it dropped by .5

Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

Pool has had high CH since day after pool builder did an acid bath to address issues with the plaster. Been high ever since. After I put new filters I can try and bump up the FC and will run 24/7 for a couple of days.

Drain and refill question water chemistry question.

So, I've decided to do a drain or maybe partial drain and refill and have a couple of questions about water chemistry after the refill. I've been having high CH for close to 3 years now and would like to bring it down plus with all the rain we've had my pool has taken on a dull haziness. I've...

Hazy dull water - not sure why

Thanks, Should I just continue to manage the pool as is based upon the test data I get from pool math until it hits around 70 and not worry about the hazy/dull water? That should be sometime in late March

Hazy dull water - not sure why

Going into our 3rd year with our pool and this is the first time I've encountered hazy dull water. We've had a lot of rain here in central California this year so wondering if that is contributing to my issue. However, I think my numbers aren't that far off from where they typically have been...

Issue with Jandy freeze protect coming on intermittently

Revisiting this since we are now getting colder weather and the freeze protection keeps coming on even when the actual outside temp is well above the 34 degrees I have the FP temp set to. Since I believe it's impossible to turn off the the FP in the iAqualink it keeps coming on. The issue is...

    Replacing Jandy Watercolor LED light

Thanks Allen. I'm ok waiting until the water warms which I told him was ok but would like to have the light in my possession

    Replacing Jandy Watercolor LED light

So, back in late Oct. our large Jandy watercolors LED pool light died. Contacted builder and verified it was still under warranty. They contacted Jandy for the warranty claim and a Jandy authorized repair. A Finally, a repair person contacted me on Dec. 3. He said he should have some lights...

Jandy watercolor LED light not working after less than 2 years

Thanks. I contacted my PB and they submitted a claim to Jandy. Waiting to hear from Jandy as to when they'll replace the light.

Jandy watercolor LED light not working after less than 2 years

Went to use our pool lights last night and one of my 2 Jandy Watercolors LED lights is not working correctly. Wrong color, missing color, white isn't working, and also appears to be dimmer than the other light. This pool is less than 2 years old as is the light. They advertise something like...

Anyone having trouble getting muriatic acid?

Went out today to buy some acid at our local Ace where I’ve always been able to get it and nada. Both Ace’s I went to were out of Transchem acid. They said they are having a hard time getting their shipment of acid. One of the stores had Acid Magic as a replacement for the Transchem...

    Neighbors pool numbers

Thanks. Their water definitely looks dull and slightly hazy. We’re on good terms with them so I may give it a go. After that it’s up to them

    Neighbors pool numbers

I’m watching the neighbors house and dog for a week and thought I’d test their pool chemistry just to see where it is. It’s an older pool non-SWCG pool and they use a pool service to maintain it. I’ve been taking care of our own SWCG pool for about a year and half and so far so good. Anyways...

Issue with Jandy freeze protect coming on intermittently

Thanks. Agree it rarely stays too cold long enough to do any damage. If the weather suggested we might have one of those rare events I can take precautions

Issue with Jandy freeze protect coming on intermittently

Thanks. I’m not sure the jandy has that type of freeze protection. My issue may not be an issue at all as it looks like the pumps freeze protect will continue to run for a set time period even after the air temp registers above the set freeze protect temp. Since we rarely get below freezing for...

Issue with Jandy freeze protect coming on intermittently

Have a little ove one year old pool with jandy aqualink equipment. I’m having an issue with the freeze protection process. The pumps will come on even when the air temp is above the temperature set for freeze protection. For instance, this morning the air temp on the jandy hand held device was...
