Emailed a local pool store - what do you know? The first thing they tell me is that I have chlorine lock. SMH.

    Post stain removal problems

A week ago, put in Stain Free by Natural Chemistry to remove iron stains (confirmed by Vitamin C tablet test) after letting the chlorine drift down below 0. Ended up having to use 4 bottles to remove all the stains. Added algaecide using instructions on bottle for initial dose. Once stains were...

    Extended power outage

Any tips on maintaining balance during an extended power outage? We had a major storm roll through on Friday around 7 pm and we lost power (downed trees and lines all over). I know copious amounts of LC are in order but is there a schedule, or adapted SLAM? Does all the ammonia need to be taken care of in one fell swoop or...

    Out of whack

Pool looks ok. Water is pretty clear but the fiberglass looks stained - even after a thorough brushing. I redid the CYA test using a 50% pool/tap sample and the level stll comes back slightly over 100. The pool store (my husband doesn't subscribe to the TFP method....yet!) claims it's because...

    Out of whack

Newbie here! FC - 0.8 CC - 2.0 Ph - 7.2 CYA - off the charts TA - 160 I can’t keep chlorine up because the CYA is so high, right? I need to drain to lower the CYA, correct? How much do I need to drain before refilling?
