Newbie anxiety over winter water loss

Thank you all for the tips...I may try the solar cover trick this fall. I'm also going to be more diligent about the water on top of the tarp. Not much you can do once it becomes an ice rink covered in snow, but I certainly could have been pumping it off before that point...and earlier this...

Newbie anxiety over winter water loss

I wish it were open, trust me...but locally it doesn't make much sense. We literally had a few inches of snow just a couple weeks ago (admittedly that was a fluke). I was able to peak under the tarp and the water is still clear and actually still smells like chemicals so I think we're okay for...

Newbie anxiety over winter water loss

I don't have pictures as the winter cover it still on...best I can tell we lost at least a foot...which seems within the realm of "normal" I just needed some reassurance of that since I honestly no nothing. Newbie anxiety over winter water loss

Resin upright popped off bottom rail

I meant to attach one earlier and simply forgot. This is the best picture I could get, this was after I had dug out some of the mud around it. The light beige at the bottom of the wall is the rim that runs around the perimeter...and you can clearly see the upright isn't anywhere near it.

    Pool newbie...

I mean, I've been swimming in them my whole life...but this is the first time owning one. We got a 21' round above ground pool put in last summer and it was fantastic! So this will be our first opening and frankly I'm a little scared of what's going on under that winter cover. Honestly at this...

Resin upright popped off bottom rail

We just had our 21' round pool installed last summer. It is one of the new resin pools with all plastic parts. As I'm out there draining the swamp on top of the winter cover, I discovered that one of the uprights seems to have popped off the bottom rail and is now resting about 4 inches away...
