Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

Perhaps, but it sure did get a lot of attention and seems folks enjoy discussing it , so...And asking why these machines are made in Israel is a legit question as I don't know of anything else that is made there.

Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

Thing is you are running the pump anyway. I know the selling point of robotics is less cost on electric and less ware on the pool's pump. But the pump is going everyday and closing the skimmer valve and opening the vacuum valve once a week to run a suction vacuum isn't putting more load on...

Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

So if you buy from Margaret and the you need to send item back while under warranty, does the customer pay for shipping? And why are these robotics made in Israel as read on her website? Seems USA , China or Japan would be the builder?

Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

I vacuum once a week normally and and twice if company is expected for a day by pool. $700 every three years isn't worth it to me. Can't imagine if I had to replace everything at that rate, appliances, tires for vehicle, etc. I'm betting they are purposely made to last X amount of time...

Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

So if I want to keep cost to a minimum what is the suggested Robo cleaner? 14 x 33, 4 to 7 feet deep. I don't need bells and whistles but would like something that cleans well. Local company Leslies, has the following with several others .. Aqua Products - EVO 614IQ Robotic Pool Cleaner...

Why is the Poolvergnuegen pool cleaner so much? It has good reviews and looks like Haywards pool cleaner.

Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

I could live with a life span of 5 years...But I see where tracks continually fall off, boards fry in the machines.. Worst part of it is even when under warranty users are getting the shaft...I have been hand vacuuming for two years and dont mind until we have company and I have to do before...

Not understanding the lure of robotic cleaners..

For the price point robotics do not seem to be worth it. $700 plus and you are lucky to get a couple trouble free years out of them from everything I have read. Maybe it's the cool factor of having new technology clean your pool, but they just don't seem to be there yet and worth of the cost...

How can robotic cleaners clean better than auto vacuums that are connected to suction line?

It has a door, not certain the name. Skimmer works, water is going in, it just doesn’t seem to pull debris it’s way.

How can robotic cleaners clean better than auto vacuums that are connected to suction line?

Yea I know the Dolphin isn't a skimmer…. My skimmer picks up nada so Im left with everything that goes to the bottom unless I'm home to rake the pool surface,,

How can robotic cleaners clean better than auto vacuums that are connected to suction line?

Yea but the dolphin is only so big, 4x4 or whatever…It can only hold so much. Like to see a comparison…I only ask as I am looking for a cleaner…..Not sure which route though

What test kit shows FC levels at shocking or slamming requirements?

So I read to keep pool chlorine level at 24 ppm or so depending on CYA etc….Burt what kit shows anything above 10? Taylor 2006 does not, various strips do not?

How can robotic cleaners clean better than auto vacuums that are connected to suction line?

I have very fine cut dead grass that looks similar to saw dust that comes into pool when neighbor's lawn is cut. If wind is blowing my way it covers top of pool. It goes through my screen like it isn't there….I also have plenty of yellow tree pollen right now. My question is that how can a...

Does the salt water cell start over it's percentage of chlorination if cycled off and back on?

Ok got it…That is what I have been doing….Wasn't really concerned to over doing it so much as I wanted to see if 35% is my sweet spot with my current rpm.

Does the salt water cell start over it's percentage of chlorination if cycled off and back on?

To be clear, the numbers above only correlate with with my 35%? So if I turn pump off and on to clean filter anytime during my eight hour run time, chlorinator starts it chlorinating process over? If after pump turns off at 6:00pm, I turn back on because wife likes to hear water features...

Does the salt water cell start over it's percentage of chlorination if cycled off and back on?

and If I am correct here if I turn pump back on after it's eight hour daily cycle It will start that chlorination cycle all over again…..So potentially you could raise chlorine levels if this was done on a regular basis? Which would give me the wrong impression that 35% is my correct setting...

Does the salt water cell start over it's percentage of chlorination if cycled off and back on?

What I am asking is if you turn pool off and back on does the timer to chlorinator start over or does it resume where it was at time of powering off…In other words my chlorinator is set to 35% if I turn pool back on after it's daily 8 hour run will the chlorinator begin another cycle of...

How much water do I need to drain to lower Calcium Hardness?

Im using a Taylor, strip and occasional water test from P&P. The reason I a want to lower is pool is new as of 5/2019. My finish is Stonescapes aqua blue, small pebble. I have places roughly palm sized that began to lighten in color and make stones less visible, as if stones are being...

That may be the only way…just wary of drilling through pools shell

How much water do I need to drain to lower Calcium Hardness?

My CH is 350 400, I have roughly 19.5K gal. pool….How much do I need to drain to get CH to 200 or so? My water coming out of hose is 100 ppm Thanks

How would you light a sundeck on pool already done.

Pool has 3 Hayward led lights but my 8x8 sundeck is dark at night and needs lighting….Any ideas? Is the only way to go under pavers and through pool shell? Picking up pavers shouldn't be a problem, but I'm not sure about drilling through shell…Any other options?

    Lowering calcium hardness...

Thanks! This is more believable and acceptable than putting all the blame on water chemistry…Why didn't PC or Stonescapes rep tell me in the first place.

    Lowering calcium hardness...

Yea, I did have a Stonescapes expert come by and take examples of water. That was his conclussion which is BS!
