    Skimmer parts issue

I have a wide mouth thru wall skimmer like the picture I attached to this thread. I only need a back cover and lid but this style skimmer does not seem to be available any longer. The hole in my wall is 5 5/8" x 12". Could any one recommend a good skimmer replacement that would fit my hole? It...

    Chemistry question

New liner, new sand. pH is a little low. Historically, I deal with high pH, lots of wind here so water surface almost always rippling. Yesterday was first water sample. pH = 7.2, this morning 7.4 without adding Borax. Do I wait a few days or add Borax anyway?

    New pool steps ideas, please

In the past, we have always had trouble with algae growth under steps and vac cannot clean under the steps. We are considering using a fold up dock set of steps. Not sure if this would be a bad idea. Wondering if we just should get new normal steps but need to change our maintenance tasks...

Chlorine level not holding, residue on bottom

Pool water is crystal clear and has been for 8 weeks for sure. But I am fighting low chlorine levels daily. I have this dust colored residue on the bottom. Robot can’t pick up, I vacuum but still quite a bit settles by next day. Just noticed the metal coping that keeps the pool liner in place is...

DE to my sand filter not following the guidelines

First time we use DE. We added small amounts until our pressure went up 1psi. Then stopped. Over an hour or so, the pressure remains at 1psi over where we started but the output into my pool has decreased dramatically. My pool passes the Overnight Chlorine Loss test, and it is blue, but not...

    Cannot get pool clear

Been slamming for 3 weeks now. Getting really expensive. Pool is blue. CC is less than .5. Morning FC is 13-15 but water is cloudy. Flushed sand filter to begin the season. Steps are out. Floor and walls brushed. Can’t see the bottom but robot comes up with almost nothing after running all day...

my water is blue and almost completely clear but algae is stuck to sides

I have brushed the walls and bottom, vacuumed several times, removed my steps from inside the pool as there is some algae in crevices. Going to pressure wash them before re-installing. But today I had to use a small nylon brush to get that algae off and it is taking forever. Not sure if this is...

    Keep SLAM'ing or done?

Been SLAM'ing since March 22. My water is beautiful blue and almost perfectly clear. I can see the pattern of my liner on the bottom, but there is still a little haze to the water. I have not performed the OCLT test yet as I am not sure how clear the water needs to be. Looking for advice, please.

    Beautiful but cannot balance

So, I started with TFP pools this year and my pool has never been more beautiful and easy to maintain. I recently was away for a few days and upon returning, I had a little algae forming at the bottom of my pool. The water is not cloudy and is still blue but I decided to SLAM to kill the algae...

    Leaving on vacation

Ok, so our pool looks better than it has in the last 4-5 years. Thanks to TFP. We are leaving at the end of this month for 10 days and I am worried that our pool will revert back to its old ways. What can I do to keep this beautiful blue clear TFP pool while I am gone?

    SLAM & algae questions

Using TFP guidelines, we were able to get our pool balanced and beautiful within a few days and opened up for the season. After 2 weeks, cloudiness, then algae. Worked on getting our pH (7.4) and CYA (40) within range and began our first SLAM yesterday. I am using the PoolMath app and following...
