Question regarding wiring and timer for a 2 speed pump.

Right now I have an intelliflo hooked up to a manual timer. the booster pump is also connected to a manual timer. I'm getting quotes tomorrow to replace the broken intelliflo and go with a 2 speed pump. Will the timer have to be replaced? Will any other wiring have to be done? Thanks.

I think lightning fried my Intelliflo pump

I have a Pentair Intelliflo variable speed pump. It is 3 hp (I think) and has 4 speeds. I think lightning may have fried it the other night during a bad thunderstorm, I have an electrician checking it out today. If it is fried, I was thinking of going with a cheaper 2 speed pump and possibly...

    are cal-hypo fumes yellow?

ok, i'll admit it, I'm drunk. I went to open my 50 lb bucket of 73% cal hypo granules and I swear it has this yellow haze in the bucket. I fanned the bucket with the lid but I still caught a whiff than Dang near knocked me out. does cal-hypo put off yellow fumes or was this my imagination...

i have a cartridge filter and only clean it once a year, so I would like a vacuum that I can use to just do touchups and not have to drag that huge hose out. it could be battery powered or powered by the pool cleaner line (I do have a booster pump on this line), but it needs to have it's own...

    Total hardness vs calcium hardness

I have a HTH 6 way test kit from walmart. It tests total hardness. I always assumed that this was the same as calcium hardness, but i may be wrong. I do not have a calcium hardness only test, so i was wondering how much different the two can be and if there is a rule of thumb (like calcium...

this weekend. I only clean mine once a year. My pool builder gave me another set of brand new filters. Should i just clean and reuse the ones already in the filter or use the brand new ones? I had planned on doing this but i started worrying about how the current filters will hold up after...

Is there any truth to this?

I saw this posted on another board and was wondering if anyone has tried this or if there is any truth to this theory: High Cyanuric Acid I have not tried this yet. But do you know that Cyanuric Acid has a specific gravity of 2.5? Water has a specific gravity of 1. If this is correct...

Should i be concerned about leaks in new gunite shell?

Gunite was shot about a week ago. It rained heavily today. My lot slopes and all the rough plumbing pipes that are under ground show signs of leaking on the interior. Actually 3 return pipes and one of my led light openings all showed signs of leaking. Does the builder need to be aware of...

Question about baking soda and chlorine

We had a vinyl liner pool growing up and my mom said a pool guy once told her that adding a bunch of baking soda to the water allowed her to use much less chlorine. She said the pool guy told her to add so much that you could slightly taste the saltiness of the baking soda in the water. She...
