Can't maintain free chlorine at SLAM levels...what am I doing wrong?

Hello, My pool has a little algae problem (Only a few spots of green algae). I tried to SLAM it, however, during the day FC levels went down dramatically. Its hard to keep pouring liquid chlorine (since its a little hard to find). So instead of wasting, I wanted to check if I am doing the right...

    Pump plumbing dilemma

The grey pipe is about 1 inch. I thought about cutting it there and connecting a new coupling, but wasn't too sure if that would hold up to the pressure.

    Pump plumbing dilemma

This is what I wanted to know. Essentially I wanted to know if there was a way of replumbing without undoing any of those PVC couplings. If I have to undo one of those couplings, what is the best way (I have watched tons of Youtube videos, but I am not too sure how much damage it does to the...

    Pump plumbing dilemma

I am replaceing a very old wfds-8 whisperflo 2 hp with a newly bought intelliflo pump. I had earlier thought about replacing the backend only....however the volutes are different as my whisperflo is from prior to 1998. My problem is that whoever set up the pump earlier did not leave any extra...

Intelliflo VS plumping and setup quesion

Tom, thanks for your time and reply. I reviewed the whisperflo manual and it too describes two different part numbers for before and after 1998. The only question is to decide when my pump was made. Based on the metallic clamp style lid, I am making a bet that it was before 1998. So I guess I...

Intelliflo VS plumping and setup quesion

I currently have a wfds-8 whisperflo 2 hp 2 speed pump, which has died. I wanted to replace it with the same but Amazon and my local stores don't have it in stock. I started reading about Pentair intelliflo VS 11018 and it looks like a good prospect. I have several considerations though: 1)...
