    Black algae question

Don't worry, I'm not that Dang motivated! My pool is not nearly as bad as shown in the pics above. I spent an hour tonight scrubbing inside the pool. There in no "green" algae left, just crusty gray left. A few spots show green after scrubbing but not many. I think after a week of...

    Quick question

It is a stainless steel 6" brush. If you take it off the pole and use it by hand scrubbing real hard, it will break up the outer layer of crust on the black algae, otherwise the algae laughs at it... The bristles are stiff, but the algae is tougher! The pool was replastered 3 yrs ago and is in...

    Quick question

Been shocking for a week now and I am still losing a lot of chlorine overnight. Example, last night after the sun went down my FC was 24.5 This morning, it was 12 The pool is crystal clear other than a few spots of black algae that won't die. Will that much clorine be lost to those few spots...

No worries, looks like I can get the test by itself from tftestkits then. Don't mind spending the money as long as it does what I need it to do.

    noob question...

Im in the process of shocking the pool. I bought the test from leslies that was recommended, but it only measures FC up to 5. I had to take in a test sample to Leslie's to determine when I got to FC 16 as recommmended. I want to do the overnight test, however I can't exactly do the test if I...

I think the clorine I have is bad. Its been sitting out in the garage for about a year. I've added about 5 gallons so far and am barely at FC 3. I'll have to buy some fresh clorine tomorrow and try to get the Dang FC to raise into shock level!

    Check my math please

I've been having a issue with algae on the sides of the pool. Had one of those cheapo test that indicated chlorine was just fine. Came here and figured out that the test was useless and to get a real tester. Bought the recommended tester and got these results: FC = 0 (might be the reason...
