    PH won't stay down

My CYA is 30, everything else is fine so I am not going to stress about it too much like you say. It might be due to aeration, we had a black algae problem and had to drain completely, pressure wash and fill again, slam etc. Its been looking great since them but the plaster took a bit of a...

    PH won't stay down

Our pool has been doing great using the pool calculator but the PH keeps climbing up. We add muraic acid but it never comes down below 7.8 and we are trying to get it to 7.2 even adding the chemicals the pool calculator recommends, it doesn't ever come down below 7.8. Is there something else we...

Conflicting info TF100 Kit and Leslie Pool Analysis

When we filled it up we added per the cool calulator 3lbs of dry stabilizer and it has been just over 40. I see the dot all the way until it gets just over 40. The only other thing we did was add enough chlorine to SLAM the pool. The PH was in above 8 after that so we added the liquid muraic...

Conflicting info TF100 Kit and Leslie Pool Analysis

We recently drained and filled up our pool and have been using the trouble free pool calculator for everything and it has been looking good. I test with the Tf 100 kit and my reading was and still is CYA 40. Their analysis was 0, they tested twice using the strips and the chemicals and say there...

Thank you, ok here are all the TF 100 results and yes it passed all 3 criteria of a successful SLAM. FC- 16 FC- 16 CC- 0 CYA 40 PH 7.8 TA 110 CH 150 ppm What do you recommend? We are thinking maybe the pool needs to be re plastered but hoping we can delay that a year at least. When my husband...

I need help, no clue what we are doing.

Update: CYA is 30ppm, we have the TF100 kit. The FC tested at 16ppm, 7.8 PH and we are starting to see the little black spots are coming back. We bought new filters and the vacuum is running daily. Any suggestions?

    Slammed and ph high? Normal?

Hello, So we shocked to a 12 and prior to that added the recommended murrain acid to bring down the PH to 7.2, it's been 3 days and: FC 7 CYA 30 PH is 8 So bring down the PH correct?

How often do you test your FC?

    Ok thank you!

How often do you test your FC?

Wondering how often you check and adjust adding chlorine? Does it vary for example once a week in the winter, 2 a week in summer?

Just filled up new water, now what?

My P.H right now is 7.8. I was planning on adding 30 oz muriatic acid to bring it down to 7.2 but I will keep that in mind if I don't need to do a SLAM. Thank you.

Just filled up new water, now what?

We are first time pool owners in Phoenix and I guess did everything wrong this year. We drained the pool and pressure washed and got all the black algae off. My question is now what? I don't want to mess it up again. Someone said get the water to CYA 30ppm, PH 7.1 and SLAM. Does that sound...

I'm not sure, I think I have the previous owners phone number. I will check with them when was the last time it was replastered, or reallybhow old the pool is. Once we refill and test with the new kit I will post the numbers and see what you all think and I will read up again on the files...

I need help, no clue what we are doing.

Here is the numbers we got from Leslie's Pool Place. They recommended we drain as well. We are going to drain, buy the kit, new cartridges, and perform a slam. You say no pressure washing, is there another way to clean the algea and black algea on the bottom? Just scrub with the chlorine...

We are using an HTC 6 way test kit and following all the directions exactly for measurements. The CH is 900ppm so does that mean we should drain, pressure wash and refill? Yikes.

OK so our PH is 7.5 that seems about right. But our cya reading was over 100. Looks like we have to drain 60% of the pool to lower it and we have no idea how to do that. Should we figure that out first or should we SLAM at that CYA level, which would mean 985oz of 6% bleach? Our test kit...

I need help, no clue what we are doing.

First time owning a house with an ingrown pool. We did our best all summer with chlorine tablets, shocking the pool, scrubbing etc. We live in Phoenix so we just stopped swimming in it a few weeks ago and want to get it back in good shape all winter. We have black Algea spots on the bottom...
