Walls caved in from rain. Crushed Rocks below rebar?

Great question! they were hired by the builder. I questioned the conflict of interest concerned i have with the inspector when he came to do the steel inspection. He said they are backed by insurance if they screw up vs the county inspections have no liability if they mess up. He obviously...

Walls caved in from rain. Crushed Rocks below rebar?

I went and measured all the rebar, they are less than 12" a part. The approved permit documents reflect the rebar at 12" on center. The gunite guy just came to inspect and i questioned the quality of the steel and he walked the whole parameter and said everything is good. I asked about the...

The rebar was finished. It was also inspected by a private engineering company and passed before the sides caved in.

Walls caved in from rain. Crushed Rocks below rebar?

We had our excavation early last week and the same day they did the steel. Some of the walls started to fall a bit until two days ago when it rained all day, all four sides started caving. Some sides more than others. It even bend the rebar on one side when a large piece fell. They initially...

    Glass Tile

Anyone know if its common for PB's to charge an extra $1500 to install glass tiles. We found one from the supplier that was only $200 more than the standard water tiles but PB wants to charge extra. Around 55 sq ft. thanks in advance!

Concerned about large tree near pool - Just signed contract

Thank you both! We will have the pool screened in so the debris falling in the water should not be a problem. I did't think about all the plumbing that will be running on that side.

There will be 15ft from the corner of the paver decking to the base of the tree (plus 4' - 3" deck before the water). My concern is the roots that may continue to...

    Pool Builder in Tampa

First, what a great site! I am in the process of getting some estimates for a new pool (14×28), deck (700 sq ft) and screen enclosure. The estimates we've been getting are in the upper 40s. Anyone recently built a pool for under 40k? If so, who was the PB?
