Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus stopping - Have not seen this one before!

Trying to troubleshoot my Dolphin CC Plus. Just replaced the blue cable, tracks, and rollers, but it is still not moving. Someone mentioned (above) about the white plastic gear...where is that located? Inside the motor box, I'm guessing? Anyone can provide tips for accessing. I can see four deep...

    Pump died

Aloha everyone, So, no signs of any leaking anywhere on the equipment pad. On windy rainy days, moisture does blow in, but generally, the pad is clean and dry. Is there a difference between "grounding" and "bonding?" There is one ground wire attached to the pump at this time...but the...

    Pump died

So, my pump failed, rather spectacularly, yesterday. We inherited this pool when we purchased the home 3.5 years ago. The pool was installed about 10 years ago, and the pump was original. The pump is a Pentair Intelliflo VS-3050, 3 hp. I had noticed some paint failure and corrosion around the...

    Suction side leak

Dirk, when you wrote "corresponding hole in the side of your pool in line with that other port (which would be an equalizer port)", did you mean inline at roughly the same height vertically from the bottom, or inline like directly across from? I do have a "mystery opening". I don't think it's a...

    Suction side leak

I did the running water test over the three way valve and all of the exposed pipes and joints, while my wife watched the view through the pump cover, and then we switched places. Neither of us detected any difference to the small amount of air bubbles under that lid. Also did the same test on...

    Suction side leak

So, let's try it this way. Here's a link to a Google photo album that has five pics. The first pic is looking down into the skimmer. Pics 2-5 are the equipment pad, from the outside and moving in. pool - Google Photos Bob

    Suction side leak

So, thanks everyone for the input. Jim, the Great White vacuum plugs into a dedicated port that is located on one of the pool walls (the same wall the skimmer is on), but about 10 feet from the skimmer, and obviously well below the water line. Dirk, here's a pic of the inside of the skimmer...

    Suction side leak

So, here's some more info. My pool has two large (maybe 10-12 inch diameter) plastic covered drains at the deep end, one skimmer, and one dedicated vacuum port. I'm figuring that the two pipes that come out of the ground into the three way are from those three suction side "inlets". Not sure...

    Suction side leak

So, the previous owner (who installed the pool), ran me through a quick course on how to clean the pump filter, how to use the multiport to drain (waste), backwash the filter, rinse, etc. One thing that he did not do is explain what this does. What's the proper name for this part, and what does...

    Suction side leak

Hi Dirk, I did try that around the pump, starting from the bottom, and moving to the top, with no change. When I compare how much air was visible through the top of that filter lid to mine, that system showed a lot more air then mine does.

    Suction side leak

Aloha Dave, When I look through the top of the pump basket, while the pump is running, I can see water moving, and I can also see smallish (say, 1/4-1/2 inch diameter) air bubbles. When the pump is off, the system (between the pump, filter and the water heater (that I don't run) makes the...

    Suction side leak

Aloha everyone, I have an apparent leak on the suction side of my system. Trying to diagnose where, but have not been able to pinpoint it yet. The symptoms are, when the pump turns on about 9am, there are air bubbles (large ones, that you can hear bubbling up from 20 feet away), coming from...

new guy with testing and numbers questions

Aloha everyone, I'm Bob, and I live with my wife on Kauai. Two years ago, we purchased a home that came with an in ground pool, and we have been enjoying it, but I'm trying to figure some things out. We like our pool, but are only in it about once a week or so, so it gets little use. This is...
