I read somewhere on this site that the Sta-Rite heater is a favorite of rats. My problem is that lizards and frogs are drawn to the heat, and that food source attracts other critters. What can I do? Put window screen around all vents?

I am testing approximately 2 hours after adding the muratic acid and liquid chlorine, and levels are correct. I test again 22 hours later, and FC is low and pH is high. This is the same plaster (pebblesheen) from 10 years ago. Thanks for all the advice.

I drained 2/3 of the water today, and I am exchanging water all night. When I drained the pool, I have residue. I am not sure what it is. It is very fine, and dense. When I add vitamin C, it dissolves. Could it be iron ore?

If I change position of the nozzles, there is thick stain where they were behind the fitting. The ring of the light is also stained. I will do an iron test tomorrow. I am draining the pool tonight.
