    Max-E-Therm 400

I read somewhere on this site that the Sta-Rite heater is a favorite of rats. My problem is that lizards and frogs are drawn to the heat, and that food source attracts other critters. What can I do? Put window screen around all vents?

My Max-E-Them heater runs for a few hours then the service heater light comes on. If I turn off the heater and wait a couple hours, the heater will come back on. Also, the effectiveness of the heater decreases the longer it is on. For example, the temperature in the pool raises from 70 to 80...

pH jums from 7.6 to 8.2 every day

When I drained my water a few days ago to lower the CYS I switched from tabs to liquid chlorine. Yesterday evening I added muratic acid, and the pH was 7.4. This morning, the pH is 7.4-7.5. Your comment on the plaster scares me. When I run my vacuum, I also get a handful of blue pebbles from my...

    Mustard Algae or Stain

I purchased a home with a pool. The previous owner used a chlorinator with tabs for at least 4 years and never drained the pool. A yellowish, brownish "stain" covers the pebble sheen on the walls and the bottom. Brushing vigouously with a nylon brush removes the "stain". Slight brushing or...
