    Hayward Heater Control Panel Problem

Hi. Trying to run my pool heater, Hayward H350fdn. The control panel is on (see attached pic) but when I press menu button on upper right to move from idle position to pool/spa setting it will not respond. The pic is of unit when pump is off but result is same when pump is running on high RPM...

New Owner - High Combined Chlorine and TA - Need Help Please

Happy holidays. Quick question... For winter I reduced run time of my pump to 6hrs/night at the low rpm you previously recommended. Do I even need that or can I run 3-4 times per week instead?

New Owner - High Combined Chlorine and TA - Need Help Please

Good morning. Probably a silly question but worth asking. We’re finally getting some rain in SoCal. We have auto cover. If my pool water level is a bit low, any harm in letting it rain a bit directly into pool? Shame to let all that water waste. Probably changes PH level. What do you think?

New Owner - High Combined Chlorine and TA - Need Help Please

Sorry, accidentally posted twice. FC has fluctuated a bit 10-12 but not much. Yes, using Taylor kit w GAS-DPD and Speedstir. So my question is if FC is at 10, but we don’t use the pool every day and cover is on, should I reduce the SWCG?

I’m testing my FC daily and it’s consistently at 10. Should I test every other day? I was wondering if the pool is not used for a few days but SWCG still running at night if that will increase the FC.

Hi. Was wondering how often you find yourself adding 10 min (with hose) of water to pool? Even though we have an auto cover, seems like I’m adding once per week. Also, if I don’t use the pool for 2-3 days, cover is on, and SWCG is running. At night, wouldn’t that increase the FC or not...

New Owner - High Combined Chlorine and TA - Need Help Please

Good morning. Took full set of measurements today: FC 10, pH 7.8, TA 160 CYA 50 CH 140 Salt 3400 FC has been quite consistent at 10-12 with SWCG at 40%. TA has been consistent too. Cover is on and the pool is usually open 1-2 hours 3-5 times/week. Do I need to raise CYA? Should I lower pH? Thanks.

Couple of questions... At Ph 8, do you think I should try to lower it to 7.6? FC was 13 earlier today. Is it possible I’m not getting correct Ph reading bc of FC or are the two unrelated

I’ve seen some people use R-004 to neutralize chlorine before reading Ph (my FC is 13). R-004 is not in my Taylor kit. Is it necessary?

Good morning. If my Ph is looking closer to 8, should I lower or wait a bit? do I use R-005 drops and table in test kit or just pool math?

Maybe the better question is if there is any harm in keeping the FC at 10?

Hi there. Quick update. All numbers still good and water looks great. Waiting for robot to arrive tomorrow! FC is consistently at 10-11 and CC zero. If my target FC is 6, should I shut off my SWCG until FC comes down or leave as is? Thx.

Hi, so far all numbers still good. Today FC at 10, CC 0, Ph 7.6. There does seem to be noticeable smell of chlorine though. Is that normal? SWG running at 90% at night. Also, when kids jump in bubbles/foam forms on surface than dissolves. See pic. Is this normal?

Good morning, Forgot to ask you... If CC gets back above 1, does that call for SLAM or is there more gradual treatment?

Great. 3 more Qs: 1. Numbers continue to look good so am running pump at 1300rpm 12 hours at night. Should I run during day too if kids are in the pool? 2. Now that SWG is on at night, when I first open the cover, there are tiny seltzer-like bubbles on pool walls. My research suggests that's...

sorry, I know TFP recommends lowering TA by first lowering PH. Do you think I need to lower TA now or given acceptable CSI there's nothing to do?
