New install of caldera reunion, sub panel 30 amp trips immediately

Tried all of the above, still trips immediately. I also did a continuity test to make sure neutral and ground were labeled correctly, and they are. Thank you for your help today, I’m out of ideas, I got the new breaker, and will see what the electrician says tomorrow.

New install of caldera reunion, sub panel 30 amp trips immediately

Can I twist the strands enough to get a nice tight fit into the connector? Could I possibly make a tail with the smaller wire just to test it to see if it fixes the problem?

New install of caldera reunion, sub panel 30 amp trips immediately

Yes because the neutral from the 30 amp breaker is 8 gauge, where the capped one from the 20 amp is 12 or 10 gauge. (Definitely smaller gauge wire ).

New install of caldera reunion, sub panel 30 amp trips immediately

So the 20amp circuit also has a neutral coming out, but it is capped at the tub, because it was not needed. The electrician did not realize the 20. Amp only used the 2 hot leads. So the ground and the neutral are labeled with the corresponding tape, and he did check the continuity the night he...

The wiring appears correct according to the panel instructions for the permanent placement instructions. Those are the same in the manual for the spa.

New install of caldera reunion, sub panel 30 amp trips immediately

All the wire is black, and the electrician wrapped tape around the wires before snaking them through the underground conduit. I opened the panel and the ground is wrapped in green, and the neutral is wrapped in white tape. Could one of the wires being stripped open at some point during the...

New install of caldera reunion, sub panel 30 amp trips immediately

As stated, we just purchased a new hot tub. I had an electrician run the wires, once everything was set up, the 30 amp breaker pops immediately. The sub panel is split to a 30 amp and a 20 amp. The 20 amp stays on fine. The 30 amp has a neutral, and every time you turn it on, it trips...

    recommended brands

we are looking into getting a hot tub, but the variety is almost as vast as mattresses. What is a brand, or a feature that is considered a must? we checked out a bullfrog dealer, but the prices were around 40k for an 8 person tub. Are there other brands that compare?

want to create a frankenstein filter setup

its mostly to just build something with spare time. I'm more interested in getting the pool clean as fast as possible for no other reason than using oild equipment that would otherwise be thrown away. i have 3 sets of filters I use, one set will likely retire this year, but there was a huge...

want to create a frankenstein filter setup

this is exactly what i was thinking! thank you for sharing this. The motivation behind it is simply not wanting to waste a working poump I replaced, and to give me an excuse to build something I absolutely can live without!

used my skimmer with vacuum hose to empty pool this year

yeah i was trying to avoid the multi day fiasco. Texas Splash makes a good point of not getting air in the line though. Was just baffled I never thought to do it before, and it made the closing time a total of an hour and change rather than a few days!

used my skimmer with vacuum hose to empty pool this year

if its set up through the manual hose line, where could air get in? Just strikes me as weird that it isn't standard procedure, its a 3hp variable speed pump wired 220, hooked up to a drain of 2" pipe, not a garden hose. Used to take me 6 hours to pump, took 30 minutes this round.

automatic pool covers after pool install

there is not much space, the coping overhangs a bit, so not sure if there are "undermount" options. I know ill be re-doing some coping on the deep end, likely digging a fair amount too rin order to fit all of the equipment.

want to create a frankenstein filter setup

This yyear i replaced my old pump with a variable speed. I recommend this to anyone thinking about it, as well as a SWCG. Saved so much money on electric bill, and I enjoyed less chemistry time. Now I still have my old pump, I was going to convert it back to 120, and I wanted to try and set...

automatic pool covers after pool install

hey everyone. Looking into an automatic pool cover. Are there options after install? I have seen some with frames outside the pool, but id rather have something integrated into the pool below the coping. Doesn anyone have any recommendations? Im sure I may have to remove some coping sections...

    Too Many Options

I have the RJ45+ in my 24k gallon IG pool. This year was my first year with it, and I upgraded my pump to a variable speed one. the RJ 45 can handle 40k gallon pool, so you are well within your ranges to have way more production than you need, hopefully increasing the life of the cell. For...

    3 months into SWCG question

I have been running my SWCG for three months, I have to say I love it. One question is, everywhere I read stated I would be chasing my pH. I have yet to have a reading other than 7.5. I am using the tf-100 kit for reference. I got the RJ-45+ for my 24k gallon pool, and I actually run it at...
