Would increasing calcium hardness help protect the heating element and prevent flaking. I know my CH needs to be a certain level in the pool to protect my pool heat exchanger.
Hi,
We bought an Intex Inflatable Hot tub last season and towards the end of last season and with the beginning of this season, the water being inlet into the spa through the Heating stage, is releasing these small black dots that float and sink in the water. I assume they are carbon, maybe...
Thanks Everyone, I will listen to the club you are beating me on the head with (That's why I come here!) and let my CYA work in before deciding to change the PH!
my CC number was 0 last night (Has occasionally been .5 since I opened, but in line with the normal testing goal guidelines)
I did add CYA last night so maybe that will help reduce the sting.
Even though "I" think 7.5 is great... if I wanted to adjust PH to reduce sting, would I go lower or...
Hi All,
I keep seeing differing opinions when I searched on this, so I thought I would post for myself and continue the debate!
My Daughter keeps complaining that her eyes are stinging when opening them in the water.
Do I lower the PH towards 7.2, or bring it up towards 7.8 to make eyes sting...
HI All,
Just wondering for my memory bank, if someone with an SWG is having an issue with the water, can you add chlorine so supplement or do they need to do something else because of the SWG? Purely hypothetical, just a question in my mind
Thanks
I am thinking about adding a pool timer to my pool pump motor, so I can cut down on energy costs.... I have the equipment indicated in my signature and I have in the past just let the pool run on low 24/7 unless I kick into high after a party or for vacuum cleaning.
Whenever I decide to shut...
I find when I need to Drain, Ill connect the vacuum hose to the bottom port on the filter and drain from there.... with the pump on low it drains a few inches in just minutes... or if I'm unattended for a spell I turn it off, so there is no chance of something stupid happening like the incoming...
I should also note I have two locations where I turn off the gas... one just befoer the joint that's stuck and one by the house and meter (On the dedicated line out to the heater)
I did remove the drainplug that is located directly under the in/out header (I have a raypak 130k BTU Nat gas heater)
so I don't have to worry about freeze damage from any water remaining inside? or should I do something to make sure its more completely drained?
sounds good to me... I'll find...
Hi All, looking for some help on whether or not I need to take my Heater off the gasline and store indoors for the winter?
I live in Cleveland, plenty of snow during the season, I disconnected the water lines from the pooland blew air through the intake to push some water out... im sure its...
My liquid chlorine experience has been a very stable environment my ph never moves off 7.5 and my TA is always 90 and my water has always been borates as well, love the BBB
Thanks both for writing in,
Good to know if we pass the OCLT tomorrow morning we can use it.... water just hit 84 and rising in sunny cleveland! opened Wednesday to 58 Degrees!
Hi all,
2 questions at the bottom, but first setting the scene!
my 3rd season using BBB and I have a TF100 to glorious results
Just opened the Pool Wednesday! read a FC 5.5, CC of 1.0 PH 7.2 TA 90 CH 230 CYA 30 so I shocked (30 CYA, so went to 12 on the pool school chart)
lost no Chlorine...
When we built our pool 2 years ago I searched online for the heater (one that my local pool store carried) and found a price that was 4-500 hundred less than their price. They matched it. So maybe you can do the same thing (I found mine doing a google search and a shopping result) and...
Re: Finally Putting up Pictures of my Pool and Deck from 201
Carlscan 26, sorry I never saw the post, the little boxes around the deck pool side are indeed low voltage lights... 5 around the deck and 1 at each set of steps and the 1 step up tot he pool (3)
Lights are on a timer so they come on...
Stuamurr, the debate on whether it helps or not is kind of immaterial.... the heater manufacturer "Does believe in the CH Claus", and will use it as an excuse to call you naughty and not to support its warranty if you do not play by the rules of the "Reindeer games". So I'm just trying to point...
There is a need for keeping your CH up in a certain range, especially if you have a heater. Most of the heaters have a recommended 200-300 range for CH (read your manual for specifics)
My pool store requires me to bring water monthly to ensure the overall results are in a range so they would...
I was a new pool owner as of last year, was fortunate to find this site first so I never had to go through the Pool store rigamarole. My water is so rock solid including my borated water that it makes my neighbor envious!
As a word of warning... there is a new version of Clorox that is splash...
for a deck top, I like being able to move it around as needed, store it for winter etc.... and not cut my deck to mount it
I ordered it from dtydirect.com which had a reasonable price at the time last season, but the site is down at this moment... I have ordered multiple times from them and get...
I don't have that one, I have the one with the liquid filled base, called Junior Hoop on the dunn-rite website, I found it to be a great product, overall and customer service was good.. for some reason the blue coating on the rim began peeling and the metal underneath was rusting in the first...
Why is it important (again) to reduce the TA? As long as you add the MA and Borax... shouldn't it just work? I did it last year according to instruction but I didn't really understand why it was so important... the borates definitely improved the feel of the water though and its totally worth...
I suppose that depends on just how long you want that deck up! Me I want it for a very long time so in ground footers are a must for me... Also how high off the ground will your deck be? a couple inches or couple feet?
