Thanks! I haven't been getting notifications of replies and I just so happened to come over here. Didn't mean to ignore anyone. I finally got my drops kit, and it doesn't test CYA (sigh). But the strips still say CYA is 0. FC is at 2 according to the drops and the strips. PH is 7.3, again...

No and I really don’t understand how to. :(. The tabs have been in for 2 days and my CYA is still at 0 so they must not have much. I guess I’ll try half of what Pool math says for the CYA and see if that boosts it. I don’t want to over dose the water.

i was referring to buying the Clorox brand pool stabilizer CYA. I can’t get a photo to post, but Walmart sells it. I’m not sure about pouring bleach into the pool, but if I do decide to go that route when my tablets run out I will check this site to see what the best bleach option is. :)

I got the strips at Walmart. Our Walmart is very small. They just did add groceries a few years ago. We don’t really have any other option... Aside from ordering. I put 5 1” Kem Tek chlorinating tablets (with Chloriniating sanitizer and algaecide) in my feeder and opened it halfway night...

Okay that makes sense. So no shock. Since these tablets have "Chlorinating Sanitizer and Algaecide" in them, I wonder if that is classified as CYA? I just put 5 of the little tablets in the feeder, opened it to halfway, and dropped it in the pool. I guess I'll see how it looks/smells in the morning.

Thank you! Is Cyanuric Acid actually called Cyanuric Acid? I'll have to go look for some. My husband keeps telling me we need to put shock in it but I don't think so since it's a new pool. I thought shock was only for algae blooms or slimy-ness.

Oh I didn't even know they sold liquid chlorine. So I really shouldn't use the tablets for long? I recall always having a floater in my old pool, but of course that was years ago so I'm sure things have changed. I'll go read the article. Thank you. :)
