    Spa equipment help

Thanks guys! No controls I could see except timer on the outside wall. 90% likely the Spa will go. Just not certain when. We're only moving 7-8 miles further out. But priority is moving us, moving our zoo - dog, cats, horses & getting appliances situated (black reefer and oven out!), washer &...

    Spa equipment help

We are moving. We will lose the pool (hardly use it) but gain a bigger house (need that) and more land - 3 acres instead of 1.5. And an in-ground spa pool on an inclosed porch.. Since we really didn't use the pool we are undecided about the spa. Cheapest course for us is the pry it up (set in...

Thanks guys I'll study what you've said. That Dolphin S200 looks interesting. We bought this house for the lot, 1.5 acres, not for the pool.

    Valve settings

Our pool's recirc setup puzzles me, here's an overall pix. Here a close up of the return manifold I can't find a satisfactory setting on the valves to balance the the functioning of the 3 returns. In the overall picture the manifold closest is the returns - side/skimmer, bottom/main, then...

Orlando Florida Heat Pump Efficiency (Schedule?)

The _most_ effective pool heater is probably Electric. The _most_ efficient (read cheapest generating heat) is probably a solar array on your roof. Electric is quick and will heat now, probably pricey to install, and pricey to run. Solar panels on your roof gets you cheap heat (sunlight is...

    Is my ozone generator working?

Amen to the SWG. Ozone generators, for a pool or for a house AC are, in my humble opinion, nothing but a Scam.

    Defunct fiberoptic lights

We have a pool with one(!) fiber-optic light. Works sorta, never use it. The light itself is an obvious lens on the pool wall. As to splicing the fiber-optic lines I know that for communication lines there's a school time, a certification, tools (fixture) and tedium involved. It does sound, from...

    Safe temperature for swimming?

Safe? Setting aside "stuff" in the water you best not ingest I'd say whatever you can tolerate.

I like the idea of setting up a siphon. We are on a slight slope so that may work. Thanks.

    Hurricanes

I was thinking about draining a few inches (while we still have power) not the entire amount. Say the weather mavens predict 6" of rain, maybe I drain 4" out.

    Hurricanes

It doesn't look like we (in North Central Florida) will be visited by Florence. But is one of them visits us what should I be prepared for? Obviously we need to watch for rain over filling the pool so I'll drain ahead of time but if the power's out for an extended period perhaps I should be...

    Swapping filter element.

Wifie started her campaign for me to swap the filter elements. Here's the setup: ( 2 pics attached). Here's the question: What the H does it take to get this easier! Step 1 - I turnoff/make certain pump timer won't come on. Step 2 - bleed off vacuum by opening valve on top right of filter...

Adding calcium chloride by volume means use a measuring cup, right?

If you are concerned about accuracy you should be careful of the difference between liquid volume measures and dry volume measures. However I'm doubting that with the quantities and mesurement range (as above) for pool maintenance the difference will be a concern.

    Solar Pool Heater

In April we moved from Brevard County to Marion purchasing a house with a pool. Pool is about same size as you are describing. The pool also had, _had_ solar heating with remote ground level solar panels facing roughly SSW. Wewere buried disconnected and removed them. Our rationale had 2...

    Cartridge Filter Cleaning Accessories? Necessary?

Our house's previous owner left notes to the effect that he cleaned the filters by dipping the ends in Muriatic Acid, and several jugs of the stuff. I posted that tidbit on this forum and received a definite NO[emoji54]

Non stop rain filling pool almost to coping

In Florida we drain a lot. Just did our pool, took out 1, 1.5 inches. Inside of a week it's up again. Our filter has a hose bib on the back side and the previous owner had put in a 50' run of garden hose down to the street hooking that up and running the pump for 45 minutes brings the level down.
