Ok, been doing the SLAM, but there was always a little algae left. I figured out that it’s testing in a folded seem of my pool. I’m going to drain some (CYA is back up to 80) scrub that and start again BUT m alkalinity is 250! Is this something to try and fix first? Current readings: CYA...

Drained a little over 1/2, it’s retesting at 70. I need to get it to 50, right?

Yes. I retested, after a rain. I was misunderstanding the test, but I figured it out. It’s still reading 100. I’ll do a half drain again tomorrow. Thank you all!

After draining 1/2, refilling, CYA read 100. Serms I will have to drain entire pool and start again.

Drained 1/2, and refilled followed instructions on link 1st= 80/90 (closer to 90) 2nd w/tap water= a little under 50. im not sure which is accurate.

My pool was nasty, I drained what I could (above ground, 4ft, 5000 gal) there is anout 8 in of green gunk. Do i go ahead and refill now? Try to treat that bit? Or rent something to draw n it completely so I can scrub? Or just cry and hire someone ?

I’ve had my pool about a year, did great until Harvey, then pump broke....cut to now.
