When I did mine last year, did sand first then foam cove then a strip of duct-tape (gorilla tape) along the top of the foam cove securing it to the wall. Then liner and water, haven’t had any issues with the cove moving since install.

Ok thanks. Curious did you attach the faceplate/skimmer then cut liner opening then remove skimmer and reattach with gasket? Or did you use the wall opening as a template to cut liner first then attach everything? thanks again

It’s above ground. Not sure of brand as the previous home owners had it installed 8-10 years ago. What would the wall material be aluminum?
