They're trying to sell me phosphate elixir again. Now Im confused.

People, A while ago, I was advised here , gratefully, that I should stay away from snake oil products like phosphate remover in order to "clarify" my pool. Thing is, recently, Ive been dumping soooo much chlorine to little avail. Pool gets somewhat clear/"blu" vs green, then gets green so soon...

People, Once in a while, with a heavy downpour/storm, pool pump breaker trips in box. I simply trip it back, start pump, no problem. Did it for many years. Today, when starting pump, saw smoke, smelled burnt, while pump struggled to start- eventually ran after say, 2-3 seconds. backwashed...

Now, algae sticks to new pool surface tighter.

Finally resurfaced my pool- was marcite, got the new age stuff diamond brite. Now learning, the algae is so dang hard to brush off the surface. Man, what a chore. With marcite, which was soooo smooth, it would sweep right off with little force. Is this typical, People? Thanks

People, 2 jets in my pool- the jets have been "chopped off" from a pool guy a while ago, exposing pvc threads. The thred ID is about 2 -1/4", best I could measure under water. Is this a standard size? I have been running my pool for a year without the jet heads/tips. Now, pool level is way...

Cuz I just dumped in 5 gal of 12%, and after circulating all night, pool is still green, but not as bad, but still, should 26.5ppm re enough to kill the algae? If not, I will dump in another...... All other parameters are good. Thnaks!

Pool remarciting- do you need to destroy the tiles?

Hi Folks, I have an older pool- classic light blue marcite- smooth walls/floor. Needs redoing cuz there are blotches throughout. Thing is- there is a layer of tile at the top going around, of course. When remarciting, can the top layer/ridge of tile remain intact or will it have to come off/be...

People, Just wondering- I just had my pump fitted with a new bearing say, 3-4 months ago, and sheesh, sounds like it may have failed already. Motor is making a loud high-ish pitch whining sound. It is still pumping OK, for now. Does it look like that bearing may have failed again? Im mad at...

thinking of installing a salt/chlorine generator

people, I know the systems are pricey but I understand they will keep your pool almost algae free. Im so tires of brushing pool walls 3-4 x a week, and lugging bleach. Will this generator pretty much eliminate brushing? Also, I heard the ionic component (the electrolyser??) lasts only 4-5 years...
