Additionally, test the CH of the fillwater being delivered. TFP recommends a minimum CH level of 250 ppm. Also test the water that you will use for top offs. This will give you an idea of how quickly CH will rise over time. https://www.troublefreepool.com/blog/what-are-my-ideal-pool-levels/

Is a pool refill best option in my case?

If you're unsure of the pool volume, ask the water delivery company to provide you with an accurate volume of water delivered. When you get water in the pool, start by adding 30 ppm of CYA. That's about 5 lbs. Use the "sock" method as described HERE. I use nylon knee-highs and limit the amount...

Featured Am I Using the FAS/DPD Correctly?

Try testing your tap water and see what happens. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Just make sure you're getting your water sample away from the returns and at an elbow's length below water.

    Circupool - visible chlorination?

While your there, check to see if the "generate" light is on. Run through the menu and note voltage and current (amps). See if temp and salt are accurate. Sounds like it working...maybe your running the pump at a higher speed? Do you see bubbles at the return jets?

    Circupool - visible chlorination?

The SWG will cycle on and off during its runtime. If you want to ensure it's working, either turn it off and restart it or activate the super chlorinate mode. Also check at the pool returns for small bubbles.

Just wondering, does it matter that the linked pump is an above ground pump? Will that affect priming?

Just be forewarned. The K-2006 contains small reagent bottles. The better Taylor kit is the K-2006C.

Is a pool refill best option in my case?

Despite the proven accuracy and reliability of Taylor-based chemistry test, this is a key point. As an individual tester, using the same test kit/reagents and same testing methods adds to the reliability of results. It allows the user to see incremental changes between the repeated tests. This...

Fair enough. You came here for help and you got it from TFP experts and guides. We understand we can't convince everyone to follow TFP protocol, but we know what works and what doesn't. Best wishes.

low pressure and lots of air

Makes sense. Just double check your winterizing plugs and all of the drain plugs in any of your components including heater and pump. Servicing the filter would help to rule that out as a culprit. Best of luck!

low pressure and lots of air

Make sure your water level is halfway up the skimmer mouth. It's possible that your skimmer may be sucking an air. Make sure the valves are in the proper position.

What kind of valve is this?

If they are simple enough to swap out with Jandy valves, I would do it. The issue I see is Jandy's are wider than the Ortega valves and may require some modifications to the plumbing. You're in the best position to see whether it's feasible.

What kind of valve is this?

Here's a link that shows more parts. https://www.inyopools.com/partlisting/pentair-ortega-valve-parts Given the price of the parts it may be more economical to replace them with Jandy never lubes. Maybe @1poolman1 can provide guidance.

What kind of valve is this?

Look up Ortega diverter valve. The valve itself appears to be obsolete, but replacement handles are available. Check out the Q&A section here: https://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352023254.htm

    Chlorine tabs or not?!

You don't NEED to buy them if you don't have any. I thought you had some and were asking if they were okay to use. You will need to have a plan in place to maintain FC if your away from the house for days at a time.

    Chlorine tabs or not?!

There's nothing wrong with the occasional use of trichlor tablets, but you need to understand how they will effect pool chemistry. Pool Math will tell what effect an 8 oz tab ill have your pool. Trichlor tablets add CYA, FC and are acidic, which means they will also lower pH. If your chemistry...

Is a pool refill best option in my case?

I have this pump. The current price is a pretty good value at its current price. Moving forward, avoid solid forms of chlorine that will raise cya levels. Stick with liquid chlorine or a saltwater chlorine generator system.

Is a pool refill best option in my case?

If your CYA level is high, you will need to drain. If you drain 75% and refill with fresh water, that will be less algae to filter out. Be patient, post a full set of test results, and we can assist from there. As mentioned, a pool Pro will not follow TFP protocol and algae will return.
