Crack in royal entrance steps - repair ideas?

Royal Entrance Drop In Step Tried to upload a pic but couldn’t get it to work. The above Should take you to our steps. The cracks are in the lower two steps directly in the right corner when you’re facing the steps. They are about 2 inches long and not gaping. Appreciate any suggestions.

Crack in royal entrance steps - repair ideas?

HI everyone: We have the Royal Entrance Steps for our 18 ft. above ground pool. 10 years old - cracks in the bottom two steps in the corner have developed. Also need a new flange on that side - currently being held by good old duct tape! Considering replacing stairs, but then thought maybe...

    Pool steps, riser too high?

I realized when I tried to use the plastic ladder we got that: 1 - I am scared of heights and 2 - those risers are not great for short folks! We moved quickly to The Royal Entrance steps and all is well. Depends on your pool if that type of step would be of more benefit to you - two handles to...

    Dodged a bullet?

This sounds worth considering, although I don't have a clue about them. How are they hooked up to the pool for example? We are not too mechanically inclined!

    Dodged a bullet?

Yes SWG was suggested by another (better) pool store manager. Problem is at about $650 to purchase, may not be worth it as we plan to live in this home for maybe another 3-4 years only.

    Dodged a bullet?

Absolutely! I have a Taylor testing kit and I get my refills from Dave here. I figured I'd have to get rid of some water and refill. Just wasn't sure how high I should get the chlorine in the meantime. Yes, that dark side almost got me :puker:

    Dodged a bullet?

So after using BBB for about 5 years and then granular stuff for a few years to avoid all those bleach bottles, we went to the local pool store and got talked into Bacquacil. :pale: Haven't started it yet and became increasingly reluctant to do so after reading more about it on this forum...

    NOISY POOL MOTOR

Hi folks: finally getting warm to get the pool open here in Virginia. Everything ready and bam NO pool motor. After a while thought it might be the electrical receptacle and so unplugged and plugged the motor in another outlet. Great - motor is up and running! BUT it is at least twice as...

    Savannah Berry Music Update!

This is wonderful! My partner came home tonight and said "you have to see this video", I watched the young singer and was thinking she looked and sounded familiar to me. Enter Sugarland, who we like very much...I asked her to look up the name because it looked like the girl from TFP, heard...

    steps

We really like the Royal Entrance Steps very much. Work well, don't seem to have issues at all, can be heavy to move in and out but can be done easily enough with three people. Welcome to all the Canadians :goodjob: - I am Canadian currently living in Virginia. Was in the Orillia area...

    skimmer sock

I;m probably missing something here as usual, :hammer: but how is it that the skimmer sock does not get sucked down through the basket and end up in the filter?

Worms covering the bottom of the pool...GROSS!

Wow, I musta missed that thread last year! Maybe we need to get some pool and put spinners on top of them so that something is always moving in the wind above the pool. No trees overhang the pool. I guess they go away eventually though huh? Meanwhile, I'm vacuuming to waste every day...

Worms covering the bottom of the pool...GROSS!

Worms covering the bottom of the pool...GROSS!

Ted - Richmond says hi  More yuckies in the pool this morning, we do have a little deck attached but it's hard to see how they are getting up it. Probably the birds. It's been really hot here so the water level slowly creeps down as well, maybe the birds are drinking it too! We are...

Worms covering the bottom of the pool...GROSS!

Huh, thanks Ohm boy! Given the noise that the birds around our back yard have been making lately - day and night :grrrr: this might be what's going on, along with an occasional suicidal worm...... :(

Worms covering the bottom of the pool...GROSS!

So, the worms or sluggly things, whatever they are :?: seem to like our pool. Where might they be coming from? The pool was clean upon opening, every day we get about 10 more. Some last night looked more like slugs rather than worms. Also some look like they could be big bird droppings...

To Cover or Not to Cover?

We are in Va and do cover the pool. I have thought about leaving it open but with all the leaves and extra electricity it seems like a lot of extra work. We used a mesh cover this year and really liked that, much less pumping off water throughout the year and much less water needed upon...

Worms covering the bottom of the pool...GROSS!

so, we have joined the worm people!! Upon opening we found a slug - yuck....got rid of that. Now we are noticing a few weird looking things that look like large bird droppings. Upon closer examination we found that they are worms with a large white head on them - looks like they are being...

    Water on a mesh cover

Hi Ted- good to hear from you  We did indeed have a great summer - love this BBB method... We can keep the debris to a minimum, we use the leaf pool thingy to take the leaves off the water and when it dries up some, we can blow other stuff off - with a huff and a puff - well okay...
