Hayward MaxFlo VSP to Hayward ProLogic wire through filter relay or not?

So the answer, at least for my system, was to NOT wire through the relay but directly from the breaker to the pump. Great pump by the way. I get more flow at 60% less power than the single speed pump when running water features. At 30% speed it uses all of 42W and still skims. At 50% speed...

Hayward MaxFlo VSP to Hayward ProLogic wire through filter relay or not?

Wiring a new Hayward MaxFlo VSP to existing Aquaplus/PL-Plus/ProLogic panel and Hayward has (at least) two versions of the manual with directly opposite instructions on wiring. Rev.H says wire through relay and Rev.J says wire directly to breaker. The pump manual shows the communication wiring...

Plumbing new Hayward Max-Flo VSP to existing EC65A

Could it be this simple? Forgot the pump union and use the female pump threads with this adapter to the existing elbow? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Charlotte-Pipe-2-in-x-1-1-2-in-PVC-Schedule-40-Reducer-Bushing-PVC-02112-4000HD/203850942

Plumbing new Hayward Max-Flo VSP to existing EC65A

Wondering if someone might advise best way to plumb a new Hayward Max-Flo VSP to an existing EC65A filter? Pics attached for reference. Current config utilizes the common pump/filter mounting base and a close coupled elbow SPX1485B between the two. On the filter side of the elbow it connects...

Water Level Band for Vinyl In-Ground Pool

I have the same skimmer and keep it at the 3rd screw. If water level gets above the skimmer it will pull water in but never skim anything off the top (bugs, etc). Too low and you'll pull air into the system.

    Automation questions just getting started

I think in order of cost their automation enabled panels are E-command, Aqua Plus, ProLogic and OmniLogic. With the T-15 SWG cell it's good for up to 40k gallons. You mentioned 32k gallon pool so that is the correct size. Any bigger than 40k I believe you use multiple cells with Hayward.

Need to Buy Stabilizer - Reccomendations Please

I really like the Taylor kit. The very easy to follow instructions for each test are printed on the inside of the lid. Seriously my 6 year old can follow the instructions. Once you've done the tests a few times you won't even need to follow them. As far as stabilizer I've had good luck with...

New SW Pool Hard time with getting proper levels!!

Proper test kit is key. Get the full Taylor kit including salt from Amazon. It's simple, simple, simple to use. Also, TFP's pool math app is very handy to enter and track your results right on your phone or tablet. It will also tell you how much of each chemical to add if needed. Here's a...

    Automation questions just getting started

You got it! It's just an RF signal from the panel to the Aquapod 2.0. Like anything proprietary it's overpriced for what it is, especially the antenna but that's how it is. Just make sure your PB knows you want an automation enabled panel.

    Automation questions just getting started

First question is what Hayward panel are you getting, Aqua Plus? It uses an RF base station / antenna wired to the panel that can then communicate with their Aquapod or similar devices (250' range) or with a proprietary Hayward wireless receiver (Aqua Connect) that connects to your router and...

    Where do I start?!

Ditto, go SWG pool with DE filter for crystal clear water. Also you need to think about electric heat pump vs. gas heater. That's a whole other debate. We're north of Pittsburgh and love our gas heater. Natural gas is cheap and it's more of an on demand system where a heat pump runs more...

    Something ain’t Quite right....

How are you reading your salt, testing with Taylor kit or reading through then SWG panel? If the latter it may be out of calibration. If the former still be careful adding too much at one time. It's easier to add more over time than drain/replace water. Also, the pool math app is really...

Savings of Heated Pool with Cover ?

Agree don't spend a ton as you're likely going to replace it within 3-5 years anyway. You also don't need the 16 or 18 mil versions. The 12 mil ones are easier to get on and off and do just as well. We use this one from Amazon and are very happy with it. Just lay out over the pool and cut...

Pool builder on news tonight in Houston, "nightmare pool build"

Our pool builder took $1000 down last Fall to hold our spot this year then didn't ask for a dime more until we were swimming and happy. I was pretty shocked with that but he's a guy who has been doing it for 30 years and stands behind his work. I contracted out the concrete, fence, etc. and...
