    4" slabs or timber?/new pump/new cleaner/new heater advice

We just filled our pool. Looks level and so far so good. Third time lucky. Was thinking of getting a new heater as current one can only heat using air temp but it looks like yours works well for you. Last year, I put it on every day for couple hours and that seemed to keep the temp of the water...

    4" slabs or timber?/new pump/new cleaner/new heater advice

Hi there apologies for late reply. Well, we are only just now getting to the point where we can once again fill her up after being reassured by him indoors that he has checked all the levels of the wood he has put down. I'm not entirely confident....we shall see Regarding heat pump it's a...

    4" slabs or timber?/new pump/new cleaner/new heater advice

Hello neighbour! We have same pool as you. We have an air source heat pump. it's a good one, but of course it only heats the water to the temperature of the outside. When it's sunny and hot, it's great. But those days are few and far between ha ha! May - August are the months the pool...

    4" slabs or timber?/new pump/new cleaner/new heater advice

Thank you! We are going with pressure treated timber this time. We call them sleepers here in the UK but they are 4" deep. We are using a water level to ensure level across all legs and inside of pool (we did use water level last year). And we are going to replace all the slabs with the...

    4" slabs or timber?/new pump/new cleaner/new heater advice

Well, here we are again, having to empty the pool and re-level or re-lay some stronger slabs. The pool was bowing last year, and we were advised to empty, and make sure the ground was level. So we did that, and used some new concrete slabs. We used a water level and all looked good. We filled...

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

Sorry I keep replying but doesn't seem to be showing! Yes I am doing a SLAM now, and have been using liquid chlorine

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

Yes, liquid chlorine manually. Decided to do that this year rather than use our SWG. It seems to be much easier to control, although clearly I've not been keeping the FC to the level needed. My mistake. Luckily the green has almost gone after a day of doing SLAM

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

I'm doing a SLAM at moment. Thankfully the pool is quickly turning much less green. I am wondering how the readings will tell me if all ok though. The cc still showing as nothing or 0.5. I'm almost there I think but need another day.

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

Ah ok. You mean i should keep at 4 and add rather than add when it goes below 4. I see what you mean in that case. Thank you

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

I'm using the Taylor test kit that's recommended on here. Here is a pic of the water looking a little less dark green this morning Ive just emptied the skimmer and plugged back in to get the leaves and insects sorted as we had a swarm of flying ants last night. Is it best to leave the skimmer...

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

Ive been using the pool math app so adding chlorine according to that. My CYA is slightly too low at between 20 -25 and i enter that into the app each time. Can you elaborate on what you mean by misunderstanding my target amounts please. Not sure i understand 😊

Green pool, but readings suggest it's ok....

Hello My pool has gone green. I didn't brush it for a few days or vacuum it for last few weeks, so it doesn't surprise me it's gone green, particularly as we have a tree and all it's leaves are constantly falling in the pool. What I am surprised about is my readings. My FC reading has remained...

Is our pool sloping too much?

Oops, only just seen this. No, it wasnt new, we inherited it with the house. It was decking, we used it for making a box in the earth and it rotted really quickly. I

Is our pool sloping too much?

Ok ok, have to admit, I chuckled at that one...🤣

Is our pool sloping too much?

Yes, I'm not sure you can class decking as being pressure treated in quite the same way can you? That is what rotted as we used some old decking to box in an area for a border

Perhaps we get a round one next time. Do they take up more space you think? I know it probably sounds a silly question but i

Is our pool sloping too much?

Yeah, not liking the idea of concrete simply because it feels a bit more permanent and we have neighbours who complained and i ahd to show it was a temporary structure 🙄🙄

Is our pool sloping too much?

Yes very true. Its a case of convincing him now 🙄

Is our pool sloping too much?

Him indoors is adamant the wood will rot. I must admit we had some treated decking in the earth and it was pretty much rotted 2/3 years later... He wants to put concrete down instead of the slabs next time we empty it... Goodness this is a flippin nightmare 😪😪😪 Thank you everyone for your help

Is our pool sloping too much?

Why is an Intex skimmer underwater?

When you say tilt it inbound what do you mean please? Do you mean tilt it so that it is lower on the side nearest the wall? We have the intex over the rail one and it works great for about 10 mins then seems to stop working...I'm wondering if the tilting will help...i always thought it was due...

Is our pool sloping too much?

Ok, thank you. My big question at moment is does it look level enough to use as is for the next two to three months, before we drain and empty it again?

Is our pool sloping too much?

Ok 😪 is it looking safe to swim in you think in terms of it's levelness? I really don't want to have to empty it again, and we don't have the money at the moment to buy the timber 😪
