My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

The Maytronics has been running good. Except the App is a POS. Thank goodness I was able to program the one button for the clean mode I wanted. It can’t connect to the cloud when I start the app. And it asks if I want to switch to BlueTooth and when I switch to BlueTooth the App crashes every...

S300 was delivered today and it doesn't work

Not having a robot is no excuse for a dirty pool for a party. Get your vac hose out and do it the old fashioned way. If you don’t have one, get one, not expensive, not hard to do. Robots are a convenience, not a requirement.

    Program not sticking on M600

Totally agree. The whole “smart appliance” longevity thing is a problem. Sometimes you’re better off with the “dumb appliances”, even if they only last as long, at least you didn’t spend so much $$$. I’d be ok with 7 years but got really spoiled with 16 years on my first one.

    Program not sticking on M600

I write iOS apps for a living. I’m fine I can use an app when I want to. But I’m glad I’m not forced to use an app every time I need to use use it. Nor does my wife have to. My last robot lasted 16 years. Think how much technology has changed in the last 16 years. How many of the same apps are...

    Program not sticking on M600

I realize now you were on track but this post confused the heck out of me. You start off with saying it's "95% app", and it's the App I'm trying to NOT need to use and you imply no phone, no cleaning for you. You mentioned a "play" button, and never mention where that button is, so I assume...

    Program not sticking on M600

I agree there is risk with early adoption. I’m pretty sure the 5 second power button hold will do all I need. I knew it should be something fundamental that a high end robot should do. And it looks like it does. It would not have been the end of the world, just annoying. I didn’t notice the...

    Program not sticking on M600

To help others in the future, you can program the power button on the controller to take a limited set of actions when you hold it in for 5 seconds. You can set that in the App Settings like so. No phone required after you set this up. If you do a normal power up it will do a regular clean...

    Program not sticking on M600

It turns out the Quick start thing should do what I want. I Have not tested it yet. I’m in another country and didn’t leave it in my pool ;) Since you can’t talk to anyone I figured it out myself. I did politely ask here for help exactly if there was a way to do floors only without a phone...

    Program not sticking on M600

    1) I have tried 3 ways to reach out to Maytronics. I tried that before posting. 2) I tried the app support menu. It Failed. 3) I post here and the first response is they will make improvements to the app. 4) The next response is, I warned you in my review it requires an app. Like I should...

    Program not sticking on M600

My 16 year old robot came with a remote. But that didn’t mean I was required to use it. It was smart enough that I “program” the robot cleaning mode once and not need it until I wanted to change that. It could also uselessly steer the robot around. The whole phone thing is partly gimmick. I’m...

    Program not sticking on M600

It’s not an App issue. I don’t want to have me or my wife to have pull up an app every time I drop the m600 in the pool and have to disable walls. I want the m600 (controller) itself to remember the last mode it cleaned in. When I do change mode in the app it’s worked first time every time...

    Program not sticking on M600

I just got an M600. It’s “regular” cleaning mode includes walls. So the first time I stopped the M600 switched to floors only and it did what I wanted. I had expected the next time I put the M600 in it would default to what I last set it. But it went back to “regular”. I find it hard to...

Warning on Maytronics Rebates (DO NOT REGISTER without Promo Code)

I registered with the App and it won’t let me register again. I’ll try through web site. Thx.

Warning on Maytronics Rebates (DO NOT REGISTER without Promo Code)

Bought a M600 recently. Dealer handed us a rebate form with our receipt. Got home set it up and all went smooth. The App kept nagging me Register, Register. So I did. I saw this optional Promo Code entry that I skipped having no idea what it's for. Now we go to read the rebate form and Bzzzt...

    Best time(s) to run pump

Time isn't the only factor. How many gallons do you want filtered? I run 24x7 now but I'm only at 80 watts. Pool is normally covered so skimming isn't that critical. One other factor is controlling your temps. Circulating the pool at night helps cool it, circulating during the day helps warm it...

My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

M600 is in and running. Perfect so far. Cleaned most of the pool in 45 minutes in Floor Only mode. Just doing spit and polish now for the next 75 minutes or so.

My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

I love your pool BTW. Looks like a bench along the deep end. I love our pool but I regret it’s irregular shape. Solar covers have been a royal PITA.

My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

The blue diamond is a work horse, no disagreement there. Just curious, can you disable walls with the cheaper unit? If I recall that was the main reason I bought more expensive unit is, you could disable walls and I did. I hear ya on blue diamond though. But they have done nothing in 16 years...

My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

OK, ok, your told me so. The Poolvernuegen was a bust. So close though. Lot's of happy customers with Poolvernuegen but it just refused to go into the shallow end. I did NOT turn my jets down, I refuse to mess with those, and I highly doubt that was the issue but I admit I see posts that said...

Guess what...... I just got the M600

Thanks for posting review, I was looking at Dolphins and didn't know about the M600. I was considering M500. May I ask how much you paid (assuming that doesn't violate forum rules) if it does PM would be great if you have the time. My Blue Diamond died after 16 years. Always pulled it out...

My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

Thanks for the response. Looking through reviews on Amazon some of the best reviewed “cleaners” are pressure and suction side. I just got delivered a Poolvernuegen today. The reviews were pretty darn good, repeat customers after 10 years, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m not sure if the...

My Blue Diamond Robot died after 16 years of service, should I just get another?

The controller failed within the first few years and they replaced under warranty. Now the main pump is not running and it shuts down after a bit, but I sure got my money's worth. I don't think it's worth putting money into at this point. I did have to modify it a bit when I got it because the...

Automating your pool via Intermatic PE653 (optional IntelliFlo VSP) and SmartThings

I thought it worth creating a separate thread on this. I currently have: 1) PE653 (and PE953 Remote) 2) Pentair Chlorine Tank with integrated Stenner Pump 3) IntelliFlo VSF Pump with Wall Kit Controller 4) SmartThings Hub 5) Blink Camera on Pentair Tank With that I can Monitor the Pool...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

Ok I got it working with the MultiChannel PE653 device. So you only have to configure the one device. This is a Different SmartApp (not an update to the prior one). Still might be glitchy getting the "Radio Button" behavior (exclusive SW1 or SW2) I welcome suggestion on how to fix that...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

Sounds like your argument is Variable Speed Pumps are a total waste of money. Since you can just run MAX RPM for like 1 hour a day. Or perhaps not at all. Like I said, I don't separate sanitation from asthetically clean looking water. I never mentioned sanitation when using the term turnover...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

Some of these differences in RPM won't change the "stirring" up factor very much. They are all to slow. I will often run the pool on High RPM while the Robot runs because what the Robot misses, it stirs up and the filter can get some of it. Also I often clean the Solar Cover before I run the...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

I never leave my robot in after it's done. I don't think it would have least 15 years if I did. You can have slightly less sparkling water that looks less than perfection and still be perfectly safe to swim in. It just hasn't settled to the bottom yet to be picked up. This often happens when...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

I arrived at a certain "amount" of filtering that worked on my pool over the last 15 years that worked. A fairly modest amount of filtering. 12hrs on low on the old pump. More than some folks less than others. I calculated ROUGHLY how much "water" was being filtered (in Gallons or Pool units -...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

I know it doesn't filter every drop of water. In fact it would take an infinite number of turnovers to filter every drop. I don't agree. Filter picks up what the chlorine kills, it doesn't just filter "bulk". Maybe our definition of "small" differs, I don't know and don't really care. You said...

Worth upgrading 2 Speed to Variable?

I wasn't implying you were doing a pool company pitch. But it's the same confusing presentation. You should be comparing cost for a fix amount of work. I think it would give a clearer picture of true savings. Turnover isn't outdated IMHO you have to factor it in. We can agree to disagree if you...
