    Jandy Salt Production 00%

How much salt do you have in the pool and what's the min needed for the generators? If salt is low, it won't generate chlorine.

How often do you test your pool water? (poll)

I have a confession - I don't test often... Probably once a week. In the winter, maybe once ever two weeks. My pool is pretty stable and predictable right now. I should test more often, but since the levels are predictable, I don't often test. I think that's what so great about the methods...

Pentair IC40 Easytouch Reporting 0 ppm Salt

I have an IC60 and starting about Oct, it started to read 0 as well. Cell still works but it just won’t display. Since mine is o yo a year old I figured I would deal with it in the spring.

Prefer not to winterize, but can't keep up w the evaporation..am I missing something?

I agree with 1Sammy. It seems like too much water for evap. In fact in the winter time, I lose much less water to evap.

Want an attorney to review pool contract in DFW area. Any recommendations?

My 2 cents worth. Most of these guys are relatively small businesses. They are not likely to be flexible in the contract. They don’t have an on staff attorney and isn’t going to work through a redline process with you. At some point they paid an attorney to draft up the contract and they...

    Titan Manufacturing/palletforks.com cauldron fire pit

I've had some people reach out to me asking about an update on the fire pit. Everything is great. There are some very minor surface rust, which I correct easily with rust "transformer" type spray and high temp black paint. Everything is still awesome. One bit of advice: if the carabiner they...

    Algae under bubbler cover

Opened the lids... poured some 8.25% directly over the openings (almost 64oz) ... cleaned out the openings, left the lid open, and will leave the pump running tonight with the SWG going. Opened 2 of 3.... figured I'd open the other one tomorrow. Let's see how she does in the morning. FC...

    Algae under bubbler cover

Pool has never had issues, always tests fine with TF-100. The water is clear, has been clear. But this afternoon, I noticed that there was algae under the Pentair bubbler cover. My guess is, the design doesn't allow for good water circulation. I don't run the bubbler that often, it's...

    Gunite uneven laterally...3 + inches...should I worry?

I am betting that the beam is level but it’s the bottom of your pool that’s not. When to put in the forms on top, unless they are just lazy or incompetent, the board forms are level. I wouldn’t worry about it. It is a hand formed protect and I am assure you the measurements won’t be perfect...

Easier way to test chlorine when maintaining higher FC

I like to maintain my pool on the high side for my CYA. In the beginning I was testing daily, often twice a day. Now i have it figured out in terms of how my ph likes to drift, what SWG setting should be, and how the FC fall and rise occurs, I am now testing every 2-3 days.

Should I be concerned with the gunite job?

No, it'll be fine. Just water it. I used some thing like this when we watered ours. -S

    Swg installer Houston area

If you are going to install Pentair equipment and you aren't super handy, get a authorized PB to do it. Pentair gives shorter warranty if installed by yourself, where as they give a longer warranty when installed by an authorized installer. Like I said, Bratton Pools do Salt Pools and works...

Why am I constantly chasing my pH

For me, the biggest cause is the SWG. Mine likes to rise as well. It will stick around 8 for a decent time but eventually will push past that. My TA is 60 right now. The rise is slower compared to when it was 70. I might try to push it down to 50 and see if it slows it down more. I may...

    Latest test indicate high FC

I wouldn’t turn the SWG off. If for some reason your tears are off and your numbers are really lower, then you could get in trouble with FC below min. If anything i may just reduce the run time and see what happens. Also measure from a different spot in the pool and see what happens. My pool...

    Polaris cleaner needs sun block

Not even a season. Guess Polaris should use some UV sunblock on the robot. The blue on the brush is the original color. The cleaner works fine but I am surprised by the amount of fading.

How to hide the pool equipment.

Our shed has four lower vents, a ridge vent, and two windows. I keep the windows open normally in the summer time (first summer with pool). I closed them during the cold months earlier in the year. I close the windows when it’s going to rain. So far so good with no issues. I figure it’s...

Do SWG maintain Chlorine or increase Chlorine?

So one question is what is your SWG rated for? If it’’s too small for your pool, you can run it 100% all day long and it will not produce enough FC for your pool. What model do you have?

Gunite Watering. Can I just fill the pool with water?

You really just need to spray it with a lawn sprinkler. No need to fill the pool.

Pentagram Intelliflow VS RPM and time settings

There is no set time. How long you run is a function of how much time needed to skim and in your case with salt generator, how much time it needs to generate to keep your FC at the right level. If you don’t have a test kit, I really recommend you get one. That’s the only way to tell how much...

TFP water is the only way to go

So I was randomly googling around and read some posts on other forums where people are actually mad at TFP and this forum. I thought, how silly! Look at my pool water! Sometimes I am amazed at how good it looks. Anyways. Happy Independence Day, and happy birthday America!
