Adding a spa please help need advice.

First I want to thank everyone that helped me over the summer with my first season of pool ownership. It went very well and the kids had a blast. My wife and I did not however get to use it as much as we had wished. We were wondering if there was a way to add an above ground spa to our...

Thank you that makes sense....I need to run out and get bleach today and add it to the liquidator before it runs out... I do not have a float but we have been keeping on the pump 24/7 to prevent it just sitting there.

Just bought a house with a pool

I am trying to avoid CYA as well as using the minimum amount of chlorine. It is my understanding that CYAs stay in the pool unless you drain it. The pool is clear and clean just cold or the wife would have been in it last night. I'll have new readings in the morning.

Just bought a house with a pool

Ok so I added 1 3in chlorine puck that the previous owner had in storage to the skimmer basket. How much should I add over all to raise the CYA to the min acceptable level of 30ppm Looks like it should take 10 pucks to get to 30ppm CYA and it should get the FC levels up as well. It might...

Just bought a house with a pool

Sorry that picture was actually taken in the rain so there's a bit of a rain sheen on the pool we have the Liquidator chlorinator which my pool guy said that disperses the chlorine constantly. I will try to raise the FC level over time but according to the information on this site having a cya...

Just bought a house with a pool

My water is clear not cloudy. And I was under the impression that cya lowers the efficacy of the bleach (fc) and that the chem guy chart has an effective fc for killing bac at 0cya at .07 fc...? Is this incorrect?

    Pool removal

Talk to a lawyer and a realtor to be sure about the disclosure issues in your area. If you are underwater on your loan and for what ever reason had to file bankruptcy filling in the pool might hurt you in court with the bank as they would have the property on their records listed as having a pool.

I have that Taylor K2006c as I had read all of the chemistry on this site and knew I would need it. But then he was talking the Nature2 and the liquidator eliminated the need for most of that and that the strips would do....I was so happy lol....I was going to send the kit back....Now I see...

I am a disabled OIF vet. My wife and I have never owned a pool before and it was not on our list of wants or even considerations in buying a home. We have 7 children age 16 to 4. Our oldest is heading to college this summer. I have included what we think that we have in my signature to the...
