Do I have the wrong skimmer baskets? They keep getting stuck

So these are the baskets the previous owner left me. Most of the time I can rotate them by hand and pull them out. Sometimes though they just get stuck in there pretty good and its a pain to get them out. Am I missing something do I just have the wrong baskets? The hold down clips don't seem to...

Has anyone tried a pet ramp for an inground pool?

Ok so this might be an odd topic but... We have a labradoodle we can't keep out of the pool he loves it. The problem is he seems to cut his nails up when he launches off the plaster stairs out of excitement. He doesn't seem phased by it but its definitely not ideal. Has anyone tried installing a...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

I did I got a reading of around 250 when testing the water direct from the spigot. However with the pool full my first test came back 325 so I'm not really sure how it changed that much from the water i tested from the hose the other day. My TA is pretty Dang high too 180. Might need to retest...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the help all. I am almost to finish line now, another two feet of water to go on the refill. I ended up doing as light of an acid wash as I could since the plaster seems to be thin in areas. Probably not the best choice but the brown staining had to go and I...

I am not 100% sure on the groundwater as I just moved here last week. Looking it up on USGS thought it says average depth to water level is 248 feet USGS Groundwater for USA: Water Levels -- 1 sites

Is it normal to have 3 hydrostatic plugs + 2 relief valves? I can't tell if I have valves in the main drain here or if they are just plugged....

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

Little off topic question here... I finished getting the pool drained and the plugs pulled yesterday. I had 1 plug on the shallow end, two plugs on the deep end and 2 main drains that are connected. Inside the main drains there is what appears to be yet another plug? Can anyone tell me what that...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

I just got my TFT-100 the other day so I am good to go once the draining/cleaning is finished. Ill have to test the water before I go and fill it entirely back up. I got the hydrostatic plug out of the shallow end so far pumps still working on the deep end :(. I noticed that there seem to be...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

Figured that might be the case. I tried leaving some liquid chlorine on one of the stairs for a few minutes then rinse it didn't change anything. Thinking its there to stay for the year. Pump is still chugging along hoping to be able to get in there today but maybe not at this rate. I wanted to...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

The line for the spigot is definitely bypasses the water softener the plumbing is visible on that side of the basement. My intention was to just fill the pool from the garden hose as its cheap and im not in a rush. With the possibility of hard water should I maybe reconsider and have it trucked...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

Really appreciate all the feedback so far! We have city water and the previous owner had a water softener installed in 2019. I am not sure if that would play into this at all though. The house is about 20 years old so the pool is somewhere between 20-15 years old I would guess. If this does end...

Not sure what this is on my stairs and walls and it does not want to come off.

I will have to try the stain tests today. I honestly could not tell you any thing about the chemicals used. I just closed on the house last week an inherited the mess :(. I was told that they used bromine which is why I decided to do drain and replace the water.

Oh boy I don't like that sound of that it sounds expensive. I took some close in pictures the best I could. Upon getting in there up close I realize its not a "raised surface" like it looks when you stand back. It feels smooth you can't feel anything. We literally just bought the house and of...
