    Spout for chlorine Carboy

@duraleigh and @Envieddesigns I would love to find a carboy on/off spout (preferred) or even a regular spout like you mentioned, but the links you posted do not work for me, I'm getting an error. Is there any way you could post the manufacturer and part number of the products you posted? Or...

New Raypak AVIA Pool and Spa Heaters

Thanks all for the replies. After much consideration of heater options I decided to go with an electric air-source heat/cool heat pump, going with AquaCal HeatWave SuperQuiet SQ166R. I want to keep the main pool heated constantly to ~79-80 degrees (while using solar cover-I'll only need 5-8 or...

New Raypak AVIA Pool and Spa Heaters

Howdy, I'm looking to replace my Pentair MasterTemp 400 natural gas heater. I was looking at the Raypak web site and saw that they have a new AVIA "Next Generation" Pool and Spa Heater that is Wi-Fi enabled, etc., looks like it may have been introduced just in the last couple of months. It...

26K pool - is 60k SWG too big

ticoman, My pool is slightly bigger (a tad under 30k gallons), I have the Pentair Intellichlor IC40 rated to produce 1.40 Lbs chlorine per 24 hours, I run the IC40 from 8:00am to 8:30pm (12.5 hours) and usually at 80% or 100% capacity during the summer here in west-central Florida. So it has to...

Which manufacturer/brand/model SWG requires the lowest pool salinity to operate properly?

ccbill, I'm looking at the AQR15 owner's manual (on Hayward web site), on page 8 there is a section "To Set Turbo Cell Type" which gives the procedure, there is a "t-3" setting listed, hope that helps.

Which manufacturer/brand/model SWG requires the lowest pool salinity to operate properly?

Thanks guys for the suggestions! Jim - good idea, yes my ~4.5 year old IC40 is still chugging along, I'll try running a little lower at ~3000 ppm and see how that is. JamesW - that AquaRite Low Salt unit looks interesting, thanks for the links, looking into it, something like that may be my...

Which manufacturer/brand/model SWG requires the lowest pool salinity to operate properly?

Howdy, I've been running my original Pentair Intellichlor IC40 SWG on my 30K gallon lap pool since 2017 and have been pleased enough with its chlorinating performance (although if I had a do-over I would get the IC60 for more chlorine production capacity). On the unit it says "Ideal Salt 3600...

MASTERTEMP 400 Combination Gas Control Valve Troubleshooting

Howdy, I have a Pentair MASTERTEMP 400 natural gas heater, manufactured 8/15/2016, model# 460736 (standard model, not the HD/ASME). I just replaced the thermal regulator (original was corroded shut). I've been troubleshooting, the heater currently has the following issues: 1) Automatic Gas...

Do new solar (bubble) covers shrink in size during the first weeks on the pool?

Good to hear! I was originally going to get the 16 mil, but would have needed an even heavier duty reel to handle a 60' long cover, so opted for the 12 mil. I bet that 16 mil is nice! Thanks.

Do new solar (bubble) covers shrink in size during the first weeks on the pool?

I get shrinkage now when I jump in the cold pool;) Reminds my of a Seinfeld episode. Thanks!

Do new solar (bubble) covers shrink in size during the first weeks on the pool?

I called the manufacturer of the cover, they suggested to cut the cover 3 inches wider than the width of the pool, let it sit on the pool for a week, then do a final trim to exact width. That sounds like good advice to me, I think that's what I'll do!

Do new solar (bubble) covers shrink in size during the first weeks on the pool?

Howdy, I just purchased my first solar cover ever, for my 11' x 60' lap pool, and could use some advice from experienced cover users. I actually purchased a 30' x 60' cover, the Clear 2400 Series 12mil thick cover from Doheny's, so I will be cutting it to get two full-length covers out of it...

Rocky's Eazy Rollers solar cover reel owners

Rocky's has their 2019 Product Catalog under SUPPORT menu on web site. They have Residential Sizing Charts starting on page 50. I believe these are based on using a 12 mil thick cover. Says the #5A Portable model is good for a 16' x 65' cover, so I should be good at 11' x 60'. Thanks!

Rocky's Eazy Rollers solar cover reel owners

Thanks for the reply Newdude! I pulled the trigger this morning on the #5A Portable model with the AT-1 Tube, and a 12mil thick solar cover. Ordered the Rocky's Reel from solarcovers.com. Doesn't look like intheswim has them at the moment. I'll post back once I get it all set up! Good to...

Rocky's Eazy Rollers solar cover reel owners

The other unit I'm looking at is the "Doheny's Inground Commercial Solar Reel, 14-18 ft". Anybody have that one? It's probably about $100 less than the Rocky's unit, but currently on back order. Thanks.

Rocky's Eazy Rollers solar cover reel owners

Howdy, I'm looking at possibly purchasing the #5A Portable model with the AT-1 Tube to be used with a 12mil thick, 11 feet wide by 60 feet long solar cover (lap pool). Anybody use a Rocky's Eazy Rollers reel? Been happy with the performance/durability? Any tips on where to buy / best prices...

Electric Heat Pump Pool Heater Recommendations?

FYI - I'm looking at the Raypak Heat Pumps on their web site, and I have noticed that you can run them in reverse cycle to chill the pool (cooling function), so the unit can both heat and cool the pool. I've been playing with this calculator: https://apps.raypak.com/gas_sizing/Raypak.php Looks...

Electric Heat Pump Pool Heater Recommendations?

Hi TampaKathy! No we don't have a chiller, haven't felt the need for one. But we're on the waterfront so the pool is exposed to a lot of breeze which may help it stay cooler in the peak of summer heat, possibly. Nope, didn't get the solar cover yet either! If that's a pic of your pool design...

Electric Heat Pump Pool Heater Recommendations?

I believe I've heard Raypak (A Rheem Company) spoken about favorably on this site, I see on their web site info about pool heat pumps and commercial heaters, I'll look into those. If anyone has a good contact for Raypak, I'm all ears! Thanks!

Electric Heat Pump Pool Heater Recommendations?

I currently have a Pentair Mastertemp 400 (400,000 BTU I think) natural gas heater plumbed into the system to heat the spillover spa that is attached to the pool. It does a good job at that when it works (currently has an issue where it cycles on and off). In theory this heater probably has...

Howdy, I have an outdoor (no screen enclosure) 60 feet long by 11 feet wide lap pool in my backyard, 30,000 gallons, salt water. In west-central Florida (Tampa Bay area). I want to be able to heat the pool during the winter months. I have looked into the traditional pool solar panels (roof...
