    Basic pool care after15 days

How long do you keep the pump running? What schedule? Do I need vacuum running? If yes how many hours each day? Can someone point me to either an old thread or give some ideas? I'm keeping pool chemicals under control but not sure about general pool care.

Leslie's analysis...should i trust? Need immediate help please!

I couldn't find liquid chlorine yesterday in walmart and other stores had closed so, got this below and set to automatically dispense from the chlorinator. I know that this tablet will add CYA too but we also thought that, since we won't be adding liquid chlorine eventually so, its better to get...

Pool school happened yesterday...no chemicals yet in the pool but thrilled to see little water features working. OMG this creeps me out....i absolutely hate anything of that sort. I guess these animals are confused where to go in the yard now. We also found a big dead frog in the pool earlier. Do people spray something around the pool to stop them coming inside water? I'll be dead when a snake shows up in...

Hind sight is always 20/20 :-) I look at your pool each time and think that, we should have added the Raised wall on the back with sheer descent. I'm not sure whether we can add it now or not, as they r re-coping that particular wall to fix some issue. I guess since plumbing is done so, its...

    New build in Frisco TX

Here are some updates: Our build is delayed now, PB is adding flagstone to entire back wall in the problem area mentioned in my previous post. They had to completely redo 35 feet of coping. I wish they had suggested or guided us about few things during the design process. We would have loved to...

Free form pool - worth the extra cost ?

We were told just the opposite that, rectangular will cost more for same length gunite free form pool. For same square footage of a free-form, rectangular will look much smaller. I personally like free form so went with free-form. I do see more rectangular these days.

Thanks Kim, Sod and Landscaping will definitely come later but the bigger question is that, even landscaping will not hide the unfinished wall, which is high up and left un-plastered from outside. Wish i had a picture to show how it looks. Does anyone have similar wall that, i can show PB and...

We are almost at the plaster finish phase, while we are away on vacation. Got the decking and grading done last week. Here are some updates!! We r waiting for decking to be poured and soon I'll be asking lot of questions on Ph :) two things that worries me at this point. 1) on the coping they did some direct cutting days after the stones were set and the shape looks odd to me. Should i ask them to fix it? 2)...

Glass beads with crystal stone pebble finish

Yep, we have the same PB I guess :-) btw cost is $500 for 2 bags as I mentioned in my thread. I'm not sure if 2 bags of glass beads will bring any effects to the overall look. That's why want to hear if anyone used it.

Glass beads with crystal stone pebble finish

Just wanted to also add that, PB is saying that they'll use 1 bag (40 lb) per batch and if i understood correctly then, they hinted that 2 bags will be used for the entire pool. Not sure what do they mean by a batch though. Funny thing is that, pool supply priced a 40lb bag of glass beads for...

Glass beads with crystal stone pebble finish

Did anyone add glass beads with pebble finish and let me know, if its really worth it? Our PB uses Noble tile supply product and we chose tropical Isle with 2 bags of glass beads for approx 500 Sq feet pool by paying extra. Just debating if we should go for extra or leave it. Would it be...

Does anyone know when during tile/coping process tiles are put on stairs and ledge?

Our tile and coping process is going on but we were told that, a 2" strip of tile that is supposed to go on stairs and tanning ledge will be done after first cleaning of pool. And the first cleaning of pool happens after tile and coping is done. Does it sound weird? This tiling on stairs and...
