Algaecide/Chlorine Bleach for fish tank algae?

Hadn't considered a terrarium, hmmmmmmm. Is a terrerium completely maintenance free? Right now the tank has been drained and cleaned, but I'm reluctant to refill with water until I figure out if what I want to do, can be done. Thanx for the suggestion though.

Algaecide/Chlorine Bleach for fish tank algae?

Thought I'd give you guys a shot at this question, seeing as how ya'll know so much about water chemistry, and have been so helpful in countless other ways. I have a 180 gallon fish tank bult into a wall, viewable from both sides. It was custom made when I built the house 20 years ago...

    Water balance question

Something is perplexing me, at least about the terminology. If ph is a measure of acidity in the water, and the ph is high, why do we add acid to lower the ph? I'm sure it is just me, but what is my pea brain missing on this one? Thanks!

    Pool Screen Cage

FWIW, I too am in S.W. Florida (Ft Myers) and will begin my pool project in a couple weeks. The pool cage screen I am looking at is from Super Screen and has a 17/20 mesh for protection from very small insects. It also seems to be much stronger than a "typical" screen. You might want to check...

I think I'm about to enter the Twilight Zone.

I'm an idiot. Still trying to figure out how to post. I'll try again. I plan on being gone most of the summer months with quick visits here and there. The rest of the year would be two week stays and gone and then back again throughout. Knowing this, is one system preferred over the other...

I think I'm about to enter the Twilight Zone.

Before meeting with the pool builder, I have a question. Knowing that the pool is going to sit, unused for periods of time, at least initially, which system would you prefer; a SWG or regular chlorinator? I have no clue, but would like to get it right the first time. Thanks.

I think I'm about to enter the Twilight Zone.

BigE, I actually saw your thread a few weeks ago, but didn't fully digest what you did. I just went back for another look and, Holy Man.....you must have been born under the right stars to pull that off from Chicago? Pretty amazing! Your project is very classy to say the least. Nice job...

I think I'm about to enter the Twilight Zone.

I live in the Badger State, and have never had a need for a swimming pool. Swore I'd never have one or buy a house that had one. Lake Michigan is literally out my back door, and I never think about what the ph level is, and couldn't care less what the FC, CC, CYA etc, etc. is, as the sun comes...

I think I just found the "Holy Grail" of pool finishes. Don't want to hi jack the conversation here, so I better start a new thread. But......Thanks so much for the enlightening information!
