    Pool Freeze coming

Long story short the pool is froze over and circulating. Whew. I couldn't figure out how to get the skimmer doors off, I didn't want to break them. So what I did was shove a red solo cup in between the weir door and the top of the skimmer and it fit good enough to keep the door down. One...

    Pool Freeze coming

I have Jandy everything, not sure if it's Jandy skimmer brand or not. I will look and reach in there and see if I can figure it out.

    Pool Freeze coming

I like the idea of removing the doors for the freeze. How exactly do they come off? I never have wedged anything, a couple of years I had to fill a 5 gallon bucket full of hot water and pour around the door, skimmer, to break it loose and it continuously flows good after the ice breaks free.

    Pool Freeze coming

Didn't find a perfect place for this but I will leave it here. Pool is full, actually currently over filled. The last couple years I was pumping out the water when it was over filled, only to turn around and fill it back up. My question is knowing that the pool will freeze over within the...

    Jandy 1HP pump

Agree, that is funny you said that because one of my skimmer baskets side burst, and must have been one of entry ways. I may also have been at fault for not getting 100% of the debris out of the bottom of the pump basket when I clean it out.

    Jandy 1HP pump

Alright! Thank you for the assistance, I was luckily able to get the tip of my finger back to the impeller and was able to get some trash leaves out of the back. It was a slow go, but with two bloodied knuckles, and cold fingers, the pump is happier, and my wallet is too! We have a...

    Jandy 1HP pump

10-4! I will pull that basket and see if I can reach and find something. I will report back what I find. I do like the idea of VS pump, however my pool does run on a mechanical timer and didn't know if I could run a VS pump or not?

    Jandy 1HP pump

I have an 8-9 year old pump that seemed to have got louder over the weekend. We had quite a few leaves blow into the pool over the night this weekend and the skimmers were pretty full allowing ail to get by. Can I have this pumped "refreshed" by someone, or would I have to purchase a new pump...

FIXED - Jandy Stealth Pump going out?

Gotcha! These are also working on 7-8 years old, I presume when I rushed to clean these this winter, (not Fall) I didn't get them clean enough, rushed it.... Have not added anything like that, TFP rules here. I'll have clean filters I can rotate in and out now...

FIXED - Jandy Stealth Pump going out?

My cartridge filters went out, or got super dirty with pollen, leaf debris, etc.. I read the cartridge filters "should" be replaced every 1-2 years, I understand that the manufacturers would like this, but I didn't know if they actually do have a time clock? I called around and these filters...

FIXED - Jandy Stealth Pump going out?

One additional data point that I noticed yesterday while observing the equipment was that the filter PSI reading seemed a little high, 25-30 possibly if I recall correctly. This makes me think it could have been the dirty filters and I didn't clean them well enough, or that they could possibly...

FIXED - Jandy Stealth Pump going out?

I can’t figure this out! The pump basket is 1-2 inches low on water. Wrapped them with plastic wrap, watered the pump down. The lid was my suspect forever, new gasket, no lube, lubed, removed all lube. Was thinking to purchase a new lid, but when I removed the lid this last time it had...

FIXED - Jandy Stealth Pump going out?

Didn't get a chance to test anything with a hose, forgot I winterized them with the last cold spell. @ajw22

I will try and test this air leak this evening with water and take some pictures of the pad.

FIXED - Jandy Stealth Pump going out?

Brief general overview: Pool built in 2016, I have a Jandy single speed pump that could possibly be going out, or air leak? I have two skimmers on opposite ends of the pool, and the MD, (2). I clean my cartridge filter twice yearly, Spring, Fall. Towards the end of the season, beginning Fall...

Big green egg discussion (joe’s and others also included!)

Tons of useful info here -> Big Green Egg EGGhead Forum If you get the fire to hot, you can't go backdown. I generally use a Firestarter of some sort, let it burn for 10 minutes, then I pop on the BBQ Guru and let it do it's thing.

We got over 5 inches of rain within 24 hours, guess I get to pump out lots of CYA out of my pool, booooo.

    Heat pump efficiency

You are in a little warmer climate then I am, depending on when Old Man Winter wants to leave, we generally don't start heating until the temps in the evening are around 50*. We have swam around Easter, but only a few times. You can leave the HP on, but adjust your pool's timer to come on and...

Artesian spa states "heating" but no heat

@RDspaguy Just to make sure I am understanding what I think you are saying, your thinking it's the same relay that I replaced already? I am questioning this as when I pulled the board last weekend, it seemed to not be seated properly on the board. The relay in question is marked, and the...

Artesian spa states "heating" but no heat

@RDspaguy If you recall last year, I had a relay go out and we together replaced it. At this point I think I may just pull the board and replace all, or as many as I can. It seems as though this spa's relays have a 6-7 year life span.
