    Pool Light Junction Box

Great info! So I guess I should move it. Any idea what that would involve? I'm thinking I have to dig all the way down to the pool wall to see if I can physically shift where the conduit is laying? I mean I only need to move it a foot or two to the left or right from where it currently sits.

    Pool Light Junction Box

Hi All, I have a pool light junction box in my yard for my IG pool. As it turns out, I had an addition put on and now this thing is in a bad location -- sticking right up out of the ground in the middle of a walkway into my yard. I was originally thinking of trying to move it over a foot or...

Repair/Replace Polaris 260 or Get New Robotic?

I'm sort of faced as the same problem as you... trying to figure out if I should replace a Polaris 380 with a robotic unit since my booster pump is dead. At this point, I'm still not too sure what's a better option.

    Polaris 380 Replacement?

Well, uncovered my pool today. Tried to fire up the Polaris 380, but it looks like the booster pump is dead. Thinking about replacing it, but before I do, I was wondering... are there better vacuum options these days? Thoughts?

    Coping nightmare!

I took another photo of another section. It might be more obvious in this one. The concrete pool deck is on the left, then the tile strip they would use to fill the gap, then the actual coping on the right.

    Coping nightmare!

So my pool reno finally started. Company came to install coping/tiling yesterday and after laying the coping found there is going to be a 2-2.5" gap between the coping and deck. In measuring this morning, I found the bondbeam is 11". The coping they ordered is standard 12" and they are trying...

    Quartzite

NPT tile makes the combo I'm looking at... the Quartzite coping / Garden Havest 2x2 combo. http://www.flipdocs.com/showbook.aspx?ID=10007320_900438 page 76 I'm liking the natural stone look -- very unique.

    Hydrazzo -- Mediterranean Blue

Yea, the Mediterranean Blue looks like its a less bright than the Pacific Blue but not as dark as the French Gray -- seems kind of in the middle. I was thinking about pacific blue myself, as it really looks like it POPS out. I have a good link of a pic of a pacific blue pool if you want it...

    Hydrazzo -- Mediterranean Blue

Hi All, If anyone has a pool plastered with Hydrazzo Mediterranean Blue could you please post a pic? I've selected this color for my pool reno and am trying to figure out what tile line colors work well with this plaster. Thanks!!

    Guinte pool renovation

Hey JasonLion, Thanks for the input on the plaster. Interestingly my quote for Hydrazzo is actually cheaper than the Diamond Brite... the installers for both are reputable. I'd never heard Hydrazzo is one of the most sensitive to chemical balance and Diamond Brite is one of the most durable...

    Guinte pool renovation

Hi All, My guinte pool is getting is going to get its 10 year renovation this year. New plaster, tile and coping. This is what I'm thinking thus far: Plaster - Hydrazzo or Diamond Brite Tile - Mastertile Stardust Coping - Mastertile Travertine Anyone have any thoughts on the Hydrazzo vs...

    Hayward H300 Startup Troubles

It's natural gas. Yep, igniter is clicking but no go. I followed the troubleshooting section of the manual last night and it says either the gas valve or control board is bad. I'm going to testing using a multimeter today to see if the gas valve is getting 24vac. Thanks!!

    Hayward H300 Startup Troubles

Hi Gang, And the pool troubles continue... :hammer: Tried to start my Hayward H300 heater last week, would not light. I figured it was the igniter assembly, so I ordered a new one and put it in... pulled the burners and cleaned them... cleaned the contacts on all the connectors. Still, no...

    Name my Mosaic tile $$$

Hi Guys, Well, with a little help I was able to identify my tile. It was made by a company called Cepac Tile out of California. The name of it was, Mermaid MD-10 Royal Blue. I'm sure somewhere out there someone has some laying around... just have to find them. Let the fun begin. :)...

    Shell floating or deck sinking

Basically the deck starts to become unlevel on the left side on the picture and runs all the way down to the skimmer on the top right section of the picture just before the spa starts. The largest gap is what you see on left. The closer you get to the skimmer, the smaller the gap becomes...

    Name my Mosaic tile $$$

My tile is cracking and I need to find replacements so I can get it repaired. Not sure who made/makes it though. It might be discontinued, pool was built in 2004. Anyone have any idea who makes it and/or where I could get some? I'll Paypal $20 to the person who tells me where I can buy some. :)

    Shell floating or deck sinking

That's kind of what I was thinking... We do have a high water table in the backyard though. So I am cautious to say the least... The level of the water does appear to be the same around the pool -- I'm measuring it by seeing where it comes up to on the mosaic tile that is just beneath the...

    Shell floating or deck sinking

So I bought my house in 2009, 5 years after my IG pool was installed by the previous owner. When I took ownership of the home, I found the pool's coping on the one side of the deep end was not flush with the pool deck -- it's raised, about 1.5" max in the worst sections. This extends down a...

    Sta-Rite SD110

Hey Gang, I have a Sta-Rite SD110 filter for my gunite inground pool. I think it was put in around 2004, so just under 10 years ago. I don't believe the filter grid elements have ever been replaced. They are yellow, but otherwise appear to be holding together. How will I know these things...

    Diagnose my plaster

Thanks. After a long day of research, I've concluded that I think my pool is showing obvious signs of spot etching. It seems that there is a lot of debate as to what causes this, but from what I've read many think its caused by an acidic water chemistry. I'm wondering if the plaster experts...

    Diagnose my plaster

Hey Gang, Over the winter, I bought a house with a gunite pool w/ spa. It was built in 2003. I opened it up last week and went through the normal process of cleaning up the water. Now that the water is clear, I've noticed the plaster is worn, but not knowing much about pools I don't know how...
