    Polaris 9350

I would agree with this. It doesn't do stairs or my pool wall as well as I had hoped, but no issues with drains at all. My biggest issue is the cord getting tangled up pretty quickly after starting it.

Sand. Stop me if this is a bad idea

We have a cool deck around our pool, then a few feet of mulch btwn the deck and the fence. We built a decent sized pergola by the pool in the mulch, mainly to block the new house's view behind us, but also to have a nice shaded place to sit. I plan to put a couple of loungers or hammock chairs...

Any Pentair Pump Pro's out there?

I talked to someone who said they had a lot of experience with these, and there was a few contradictory statements to what I am reading here. He said they do a lot of Superflow, not many Intelliflow. Both are good pumps, but he said the superflo control board can be operated free-standing...

    Outdoor TV help please

I go buy refurb TVs on Amazon or something like that. 1/2 the cost of a new one. You can get some good deals on them. I expect to last only 2-3 years, then replace with another one. You will buy 12-14 of them for the price of 1 outdoor TV.

    Polaris 9350

I have a 9450, last summer was my first go-round with it. It does a pretty good job for the most part. I have a custom shaped tile pool with 90 degree corners all around the pool btwn the floor and walls, and it doesn't get into that corner well. It also doesn't climb tile walls well. It...

Any Pentair Pump Pro's out there?

I appreciate the info. I understand what you are saying about the easy touch and me manually turning pump on/off. I need to find someone in the area who knows the easy touch system. The local company that put it in does not install them much....most people in KS dont go to the expense of an...

Any Pentair Pump Pro's out there?

Today, I have a Pentair single speed pump on an Easy Touch system. I am looking to change out the pump for a Variable speed pump....main reasons is to allow it to run 24/7 (dont have to go turn pump off/on) as well as save on energy costs. Would like to stay with Pentair for a multitude of...

    My newest poolside addition

I would also consider Blaz'n. I narrowed my choice down to Rec Tec and went with the Blaz'n. Very happy.

    Thinking about salt water

A couple of other things I thought of besides the tile/grout... What about rocks/stone around the pool? I have a lot of unsealed boulders/rocks around the pool. Will the corrosive behavior of salt damage those at all? I have a heat pump to heat the pool....any potential issues with that?

    Thinking about salt water

First full season of pool ownership, second season overall....so still a newbie. I have been thinking of switching to salt before next year instead of chlorine. Any issues with going to salt with a tiled/grouted pool?

New pool owner. Pool toys/floats recs?

Lazy Buns are the float of choice at our pool with friends and family. But really any "aqua saddle".

    Sonos!!!

I did check with Sonos support....which by the way is very fast to respond! They said there is no issues with this. The only issue is using different generations for stereo sound for something like a surround sound system. But everything else should work as expected.

Intellibrite lights take a long time to switch colors

I would agree its normal. I have the same lights. When I change colors, mine go off and come back on....I would say it takes somewhere between 3-10 seconds. I think it depends on what color I am on and what color I am going to.

    Sonos!!!

Does anyone know if there are any issues with having different speaker generations? I would hope not. There are some that are not in too bad of shape on the used market....thinking about picking some of them up to go with my Play 5. But they are an older generation.

    Robot Surface Cleaner

I have some interest in this. Anyone else using it? Looks like the mesh is not very fine....how does it keep finer debris in the bag? Or is it pretty fine and just doesn't look like it in pictures?

I have some spots in my grout that seem to be eroding a bit. How do you clean existing grout out before you re-grout?

    Sonos!!!

I just pulled the trigger on a Sonos 5. So far, so good. I just bring it in when not being used....for that kind of money I am not taking a chance.

    Polaris 9450

So far, the Polaris 9450 has met expectations. Seems to work well, no issues with it.....no mechanical issues and hasn't gotten stuck. I wasnt sure if it would climb my steps, but it has done it with ease, which is a nice bonus (I heard it MAYBE would climb steps, so this is a nice bonus as I...

    Polaris 9450

Just pulled the trigger on a Polaris 9450 last week for my pool. Does anyone have any suggestions for cord tangling? I have left it out on the deck as straight as I can get it....which isn't very straight. And I cant seem to get the loops out no matter what I try. Any other...

    Spa Cleaner Question

I have an inground spa with a bench around it just about 2 ft deep (maybe a bit more). I notice that a lot of sand/gravel/dirt seems to collect on the seat all around the spa. In the summer, when I connect up the pool vacuum, I can clean it up pretty quickly. But in the wintertime, when the...

    Pump swap out question

Thanks mas985....that gives me an idea on what I am looking for. We pay about 11 cents/kWh from what I can see, so that gives me some numbers to compare. 1 question - you said you are giving the high/low speed if i were to change out the motor for a 2 speed motor. If I just replaced the...

    Pump swap out question

When you say 2300 watts or 500 watts, is that per day? It is only one speed, so not sure where you get the high speed/low speed numbers from. Or are you talking a new 2 speed Whisperflo? If you are talking about the latter, how many watts would my older 1 speed Whisperflo use? It is a WF-23

    Pump swap out question

I don't know about this stuff, so I am coming to the experts. Just bought this house with a pool late summer last year. Currently, on my pool I have a 1HP Pentair WhisperFlo pump that is 1 speed and about 6 yrs old. I will open the pool in late April/early May here in KS, and probably close...

    Shade Sails

We have a couple of shade sails overlapping covering part of our patio. We just bought the house in July, so only had a few months with them before I took them down for winter here in KS. They seemed to hold up well to the Kansas wind. The ones I took down are starting to show some wear and...

Best setup for outdoor stereo system

I kept it a little vague because I am open to options. If I went with Sonos, I would not leave them out as I dont believe there is an outdoor Sonos speaker...and they would be subject to the elements. If I were to mount outdoor speakers, there is not power where I would probably mount...
