I was able to get my fountain installed without a coupler. I dropped by a local pool place today to look for a coupler and showed them my pictures. They told me that threaded part on the return should come out and it did.

Thanks! I've already learned so much reading the stickies. I could have done a better job labeling the pics, sorry. Your understanding of the pics is correct. I was thinking coupler as well but the lack of threads you mentioned also concerned me. And, no, the fountain part doesn't come apart.

As the title says I am a new pool owner. The house was a bank repo so I have no history or information about the pool. I did have it inspected and everything restored to proper working order by a local pool company once we took possession. My pool has a vinyl liner and has two return jets on...
