I recently set up my 16x48 intex with dual inlets and and installed the Hayward skimmer... I installed the between the return and the first inlet and put Them. The 2nd inlet is capped off.

Check out YouTube... there are several different methods aside from solar mats that are easy builds and relatively cheap to build and will be a bit more efficient given you have the room around the pool to set up a solar panel... I am building one on a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

The solar panel will be mounted at the rear near the pump and will be 5-6 ft off the ground.. I will have a ball valve to control the water flow... the Fountain will be a 3 piece of pvc will hole drilled and attached to the top rail... thanks for the help

Thank you greg and cowboycase... that brings up another question... I was told that the pool should be filled for at least a month before installing the skimmer so the liner can stretch. Does it really matter how long the pool in filled before installing?
