More to dislike about public pools

I would do both. Notify the health club and report it to the health dept.... chances are the health club is already aware of their water clarity situation, but are too concerned with other matters to tend to it. The health department should (and a good health inspector) will close the pool...

More to dislike about public pools

This is an absolute SHAME! As an operator, and director of numerous aquatic facilities, during every in-service, I remind my guards that if they cannot CLEARLY see the main drains(bottom of the pool) of the swimming pool, the pool is to be immediately closed. "If you cannot see the bottom...

ORP readings vs. Free Chlorine readings

Hello, everyone, Reading about ORP on another thread brought up some of my own questions. First, what is the ideal ORP range for swimming pools? The WHO says that 650mV is suitable for drinking water, than why have I seen pools with ORP setpoints at around 525mV? ANd how would you...

    Combined Chlorine =1.5, how long...?

THank you, Jason. The pool has been sitting untouched since Friday, (I am not there nor is anyone else to check out the levels). I'm hoping that 3 days was enough to get rid of the chloramines, I guess I will find out tomorrow. Also, when using the FAS-DPD kit, should I be filing the sample...

    Indoor green tinged pool

Yes, the water is not a clear green, but a hazy green...but i can see the bottom of the dep end (4ft 10in). I'm going to let the pump and filter run all night and hope it works some magic. If it is in fact metals. Would it be best for me to nuetralize the FC to 0, and add a sequestering agent?

    Indoor green tinged pool

Hello, An indoor pool that has NO exposure to sunlight was drained, and refilled, but, the water has a greenish tinge to it. The pool's liner is white. Upon filling up, the first thing added to the pool was chlorine, and large amounts. THe water was not treated with metal out or ever...

    The alkalinity keeps rising-idk why.....?

Hello, My alkalinity has been on the rise, it went from around 100ppm to 140ppm in the past few weeks. I've been adding MA on a regular basis to try to lower it, I get it down to around 100, and by the next morning, it's hovering between 120-130ppm. I wait 2 hrs after adding MA before I test...

    Digital Testers?

I've been using the ColorQ for 1yr. The CH & Alkalinity tests are usually a bit off when compared to the Taylor kit. However, it is usually dead on with the FC, TC & pH. The CYA test is not accurate. A few things to watch out for with this kit. Change the test vials every 3 mnths or when...
