Bump

I only have one return. When I take the eyeball out the pressure is lower but the pump fills up with water

I'm still at a loss. The pump will stay full of I take my jet return off. Once on it only stays filled 3/4 way up. I ran water all over and nothing. Is it normal if I take the pump cap off, the water gets sucked into the filter ?

So everything is taped up and water in pump fills with air slowly. I found if I remove my return jet, the pump fills with water to the top. Would a small return jet do that ?
