    Getting the levels right

Hello all! Just finished the SLAM of my pool this year, and we added a new NG heater. In the manual for the heater it requires certain levels for the chemicals. Currently I need to reduce my ph from 8.0 to 7.4-7.6. I need to increase my TA from 60ppm to 80-120 and I need to increase my CH...

    Replacing old pool heater

Thanks for the help. it is a few inches higher than the old one, which is just enough to not run a straight nipple like the original install.

    Replacing old pool heater

Hi all. Looking for some help. My old Hayward H250 died last year and I bought a replacement. The newest version of the H250. The issue I have is that the new heater is smaller in physical size so the gas line is not lined up properly. Instead the old install where there was a straight 6" nipple...

    Hayward Super II issue

As soon as I typed that note, I double checked the unit, and sure enough, I see what you are talking about. Is it common for an electric motor to short out like this one has?

    Hayward Super II issue

Hello experts! I have a Hayward Super II pump with an AO Smith 1HP (SF1.1) motor. I found the motor off today when it should have been on. Upon further inspection, the breaker for the pool pump was tripped. I reset the breaker and turned the pump back on. Immediately there was a pop and a...

    Filter/Pump Issue... Help!!!

No. There is air in the filter after it sits. I do not know where it is coming from. It does not appear to be from the suction side. There are no air bubbles in the pump basket, no air coming out of the returns. Is it possible for it to suck air from the return side?

    Filter/Pump Issue... Help!!!

As I get further into this, I don't think it is a suction issue. There are no air bubbles in the pump strainer, so it seems that it is getting enough water. The pressure in the filter is normal and the DE issue has seemed to resolve itself. I took the motor off thinking there may have been an...

    Hayward pool heater knocking

One last question... On the right side of the header valve there are 4 wires 2 going into each module... When I pulled them, I thought there was a wire harness in the boot. I know which 2 are from the top and which 2 for the bottom, but I don't know for sure for each individual wire... Can't...

    Hayward pool heater knocking

It is allowing water to the heater. The heater runs for about 20 min it does heat the water for that bit of time, but after that 20 min or so the banging starts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hayward pool heater knocking

There is a bypass valve before the heater, but it has been open and the heater has been running fine for months with no changes in the valve set up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hayward pool heater knocking

Plate is ok and intact. Not sure where to look next. I could not see any visible issue with the heat exchanger. Could this be a thermostat issue?

SLAM - Getting the CYA right

Hey guys. Things are going great with the SLAM. I have visibility in the deep end. Almost there. Water in shallow end is very clear. Vacuuming every day getting out the dead algae. I do have a quick question for after the SLAM. What is the best way to chlorinate the pool? I have an inline...

SLAM - Getting the CYA right

That makes sense. The first day and hours we were adding quite a bit of chlorine but as we got closer to last evening, it slowed. Hopefully I just tested poorly and I am still on track. Thanks for the info!
