Linen, The pool is 3 years old. I don't remember the specs on it. I know I double checked the height of it before installing the liner. There is no pulling or sagging anywhere except the normal amount that you would expect during filling. Pool is very level. It surprised me to see this because I...

Thanks dave, I did the install myself. I bought the kit but don't remember having a warranty card with the liner. From what they tell me its on the side wall somewhere. Sounds like its going to be a she said he said type of situation. I opted for the better liner when I bought it with a longer...

Hi all, been a while. Just a quick question. My liner is coming apart at the bead. Pool is only 3 years old. Of course the pool company says its the liner maunfactor problem and the liner manufacturer says its the pool company's problem when it comes to the warranty. Lol go figure. Either way...

Looked out the window this moring....

This is to funny. Our dog (miniature dachshund) did this just last week. She wanted her mommy and daddy, so she took a trip around the world via the pool wall. Bad thing was she got brave all the sudden, and jumped in to get to us. It looked like a burnt hotdog swimming. She had never been in...

    Has anyone ever used this?

Yeah thats what I figured also. It's a neat idea and it may work fine in a smaller pool. I also liked the part where it said "Also included is an optional mineral purifier". :goodjob: I hope anyone who buys one asks question and reads the instructions well. Thanks to the original poster...

    Has anyone ever used this?

Oh I understand how it works... But what is the point of the shock once a week? My question is this... If you shock once a week when the water temp is over 70* using liquid chlorine, and that brought the chlorine level up to lets say 15ppm, then what is the purpose of the product? If your levels...

Methinks 'previously frozen' may not be so smart after all

Glad to help! Have a great weekend to all. Tim

    Has anyone ever used this?

Looks cool but I'm confused... From what I read it said to "shock pool once a week if water temps are above 70* ". My pool water stays about 83* to 90* during the summer. If I remember right it was above 70* in early spring. Please correct me if I am wrong but if you are required to shock the...

Methinks 'previously frozen' may not be so smart after all

Here is a bit of info that a person may or may not know. If freezing meats, fish etc.. for longer then 2 to 3 months, you should use a non frost-free freezer. Frost free freezers cause freezer burn in a short amount of time. Normal frost free freezers temps run from -5* to around 10*. When the...

Pool Rover, Pool Rover would the right one come over?

Thanks Tom for all the good info!! I also called Aquabot. I was told I should not use the Aquajet Turbo T on an AGP, which is the one we wanted at first. It seems that they are making several different models of the Pool Rover line .... From what it sounds like is that they are using the same...

Pool Rover, Pool Rover would the right one come over?

I just ordered the "Pool Rover T". I did a pretty good bit of research on the Pool Rover's, here and through the "Aquabot" website etc.. Even though I can see the obvious difference in the Pool Rover and the Pool Rover T, as shown below, I really don't know what the differences are if that...

Possible to make a 27' Round pool into a 24'?

Theoretically you could shorten the wall portion of a 27' pool to the diameter 24' by cutting off some length of the wall itself. I would NEVER attempt such a thing due to possibly loosing strength. But the lower and upper rails would be at the wrong angle for a 24' pool. They are bent to fit...

    Pump noise

I agree, sounds like something either in the impeller or a cracked impeller or worn front bearings on the motor. Sorry I didn't hear/see the video before. Tim
  15. Tim23

    Is this pump ok?

I have the 1.5 hp pump. Its the same but .5 hp smaller. It works well. I agree I think a 1 or 1.5 hp would do you just fine. The pump is quite and so far has been working well. I do know that "Waterway" makes a standard and a Hi Flow version. Mine says its the Hi Flow so I can't compare it...

    Pump noise

Ohm_Boy is correct. Most larger motors have a start cap and or a run cap. The start cap will engage/fire until the start switch is open. Then if a run cap is used it will then engaged. Most of the time a run cap has a very low MFD rating and its used just to take some of the load off of the...

replacing skimmer on agp, do I have to lower water level?

I'm sorry but I couldn't find the papers for the skimmer, but I do have the part number of the whole skimmer. The complete kit only cost $40 dollars. I know it's a lot to pay for just the lid but if all you need is to use the lid at least will have other parts like the weir etc. Here is some...

replacing skimmer on agp, do I have to lower water level?

Did you post pics on another thread looking for the top for your skimmer? If so I saw your pics. It looks just like mine on our new pool. I cant remember the brand name but I might be able to find the papers that came with the skimmer. I looked on our lid to see if there was a part number or...

    Yet another pump problem

It could be that the rotor is stuck to the field/stator from corrosion/rust. Could be bearings stuck. Capacitor may be bad. Start switch could have trash on it. Many things could cause it. Are you able to turn the motor? Hope this helps some. Tim

    CYA dropped, WHAT?

esim13, I do service work and I see a lot of pools. I also tell people/customers about TFP and the BBB method. Can't beat a good thing. Have a good day. Tim

Pool Success story - Thanks to TFP

GOOD JOB, I am also a believer.... TFP has really made me understand what is really needed and what is not. A good way to put how TFP makes me feel about our pool is, "safe" if that makes sense . Tim

    CYA dropped, WHAT?

esim13, Hello, I saw that we are neighbors so I wanted to say hi! We have enjoyed TFP so much. They have helped us, get and keep a clear, "Trouble Free Pool". Because we live in the same area we most likely experience some of the same conditions with our water. Anyway, sorry to jump in on...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BACKFILL

Its true, the sand was a little more difficult to tamp because it wanted to shift on the poly until we added enough sand. But as long as we had a good heavy 2" or a little more of sand and it was wet down good we didn't have a problem. We used the foam cove and backed it with sand. But like I...

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BACKFILL

Well I couldn't see where it was gonna be a problem with mine. Make sure you don't backfill until you have at least 1/2 the water in the pool otherwise the weight/pressure from the dirt could cause the pool/walls to shift. Any questions just ask. Tim
  25. Tim23

    ABOVE GROUND POOL BACKFILL

Sounds like you have a similar situation as I did, except mine was all the way around. I had used 6 mil plastic under my pool before the liner and let it over hang the pool perimeter about 12". So when I backfilled I ran the plastic up the side of the pool before the dirt/clay was backfilled...

From blue to green in 96oz

Here are a few pics of what I have been dealing with until today! I'm sure this has been seen before. So far so blue! :goodjob: This is of course is the green. This is a few hours later after adding the sequesterant. Waited 36 hours, tested and it needed chlorine. Added the bleach...
