I hadn't tested for awhile and these are the results:
Cl 12
cc.5
PH 8.5++
ch 750
Al 100
CYA 20
Tests were done this morning on a somewhat cloudy day. I have added 20 oz or so of muriatic acid and will test ph in another hour.
Ch has always been high, its the CYA that I'm concerned about...
Since my last post I can report that the wasps have disappeared. I don't know if they died, or are going to another pool, or if the 115+ temps for the last week did them in, or if the algaecide did it. But their gone, didn't have any yesterday..
In one of my previous posts the wasp problem came up and how to stop them from coming to the pool. I brought this up with the pool store guy that I get my HASA chlorine from and he recommend an all purpose algaecide from All-Clear. He said one of the ingredients, dimethyl benzyl ammonium...
Are you using HASA bulk chlorine? The active cl is 12.5% which is the higher than you get at any of the retail stores. My pool store sells 4 gallons for 15.00 and change, Are you losing a lot at nite??
Last year I would have to add 33-36 oz of chlorine each night to maintain a cl of 7. This year I have to ad 56-63 oz ea morning. Almost double
Took this test at 12:00 today: ++
CL 6.5
CC .5
Ch 500 this down from 600
TA 70
CYA 35
PH 7.2
Should add more stabilizer to increase CYA and...
I guess its over YEA!!!! at 9:30 it cl increased to 18, 11:30 it has decreased to 13 but cc was 0.0... I'll check it tonight..
Thanks for all you help Texas Splash
Last nite i did a CL check and it came out to 14. I added 33 oz to bring it up to 16. This morning, around 6:30 it showed cl at 16.. No loss overnight.
So I retested today after a few very busy days.
CL 14
CC 2.5
CA 600
TA 70
CYA 35
PH 7.5
shouldn't the increase in stabilizer increas the CYA? That didn't work and now my CH is way high at 600. I will lower the water level a little using the back wash hose..
Pool is crystal clear and yes...
Kept at 20 today. Just checked 7:00 pm and it showed 20. Last check was about 2 hours ago. Will do an OCLT again and raise to 25 as I have to go to work
Its crystal clear..
I finally did a test on the pool. Over the last 2 weeks or so I have been adding approx 60 az of chlorine each nite. Got to thinking about it and remembered that I used to add 28-30 oz per night. Today I had quite a few people in the pool and the following are the results:
Cl 4.5 at 5.15PM...
Thanks for the reply. Did an OCLT test and the FC was 5.5. Thats of loss of 2. Is that normal? As for CYA I would like to get it up to 30-40 range.I've put approx 30 oz of stabilizer in a sock, sitting in the skimmer.
I have a bottle of granular and put 30 oz in a sock sitting in the skimmer. If I recall CH fill was high at 250+.
