alternative to fafco sunsaver solar coupler

Has anyone noticed that the current Fafco panels seem to be 2 inches narrower than the old ones? I bought a new replacement panel to swap out for a leaking one, and when I went to connect it, I had a 2 inch gap. I managed to get the couplers to seal by using the minimum overlap on each join...

    Pentair Compool LX220 has died

Hi AJW, Thanks for the reply. That Intellicenter looks like a whole lot of complexity that I don't want. I don't have fountains and light shows, or even a built in spa (hot tub is a separate system). I just want a simple system, running on timers and temperature sensors, I don't need another...

    Pentair Compool LX220 has died

HI, It looks like my Pentair Compool LX220 has died. I have a Pentair 011018 IntelliFlo variable speed pump, Polaris PB4-60 booster and 380 sweep, solar panels on the roof. I first noticed that I could not turn the Polaris booster pump on by moving the manual lever on the clockwork timer...

    Lifespan of a booster pump?

Well that's good to know, I was worried that after tens of thousands of hours of running that the wear in the wet parts or in the motor/bearings/seals might have led to a drop in efficiency and motor speed/power. I will dismantle tonight and check. This is one I rebuilt last year using the...

    Lifespan of a booster pump?

Hi, my Polaris 380 is a little slow, around 20 rpm and 20 psi on the gauge. The tail hardly sweeps, even with the screw wide open. There is water shooting from the tail, a fair amount, but going on the rpm/pressure, we could be 33% low? I tried a couple of hoses and both give the same results...

Spa Pump "Flo" error, now non-responsive

All sorted, hopefully. There were three wires going to a black module on the inside of the back plane of the motor, coming from the windings, speed switch maybe? One black, one orange, one purple I think. The black one was broken away from the tab, I resoldered it and all seems fine now. Had...

Spa Pump "Flo" error, now non-responsive

Confirmed that the socket on the controller is offering 240VAC where the pump cable plugs in. Next stop is the rear end of the pump and for that I really need to remove it after draining.

Spa Pump "Flo" error, now non-responsive

The three main fuses are good, checked with meter after removing from circuit board. Did not check two tiny 2A glass fuses. Control pack is 3 years and 4 months old. Still looks reasonable, although slight corrosion seen on some spade terminals. Pump is around 4.5 years, tub much older. Here's...

Spa Pump "Flo" error, now non-responsive

Hi All, I have not found my exact problem(s) in any searches, so thought I might try posting. Our hot tub has two Waterway 3 hp, 2 speed pumps, controlled by an Easypak 2000. I have got well practiced at removing the pumps and replacing seals and fixing leaks over the years. The recent issues...

    Pentair 08434 deteriorating

I have a 30 year old in ground pool. One of the return jets pops out every now and then. It seems the threads on the wall mount have started to erode, so the lock ring cannot fully tighten/bed down and the jet escapes sometimes, likely at start up, or solar coming on. Do we think the part in the...

    Jet removal

Thanks. I managed to sneak up on it today and confirm the heater lamp was not on while it was filtering, so assume the temp is just a result of the pumps running, for now. Need a data logger to watch the temp and see how it matches to filter cycles. It looks like the smaller jets are micro...

    Jet removal

Hi all, Long time lurker, no had much reson to post, but thanks for all the good info and suggestions, we make full use of the TFP system for our pool We have a Phoenix Spas EC-2 spa (a local CA company now defunct). Tub must be quite old. 220V, 5.5 kW heater, 2 of 3 hp pumps, around 350...
