My impeller motor died as well. I ordered the bearings as in the video but upon tearing down the motor, it wasn’t the bearings. A bunch of carbon fell out as if the motor had been burnt as an offering to the pool gods. Has anyone been able to source a replacement impeller motor?

Trees, I have a 450g spa with Ozonator and drapeover Megachlor with Chlorine detection. Love how I can set it low (preserving cell life) and it’s automatic operation (Travel a lot for work, no issues). I don’t worry about the drapeover unit, hardly notice it when in the spa.

The SWG says it's rated for 18,000 gallons. Your pool is not much less. You should buy a SWG rated for at least 2X the volume of your pool at a minimum. As it is your SWG needs to run 24 hrs a day to hope to keep up. Buy a known brand SWG with as much capacity as possible and enjoy cool drinks...

I use a Megachlor with Cl2 detection in my 450 gallon spa for the same reason. Works great!

I believe it would be cheaper and more effective to control the SWG with an Intermatic timer. With so few adjustments necessary for the SWG, it seems silly to control it with automation. I adjust mine no more than about once per month, increasing as the weather warms and decreasing as it cools...

The Megachlor will handle this application nicely. The Megachlor CD will automatically come on as needed when the Chlorine gets low.

Agree with Chris above, have an RJ60+unit for a couple of years and love it. Makes plenty of Chlorine, adjustable in 5% increments, clear cell lets you observe its working, nice people to deal with if you have any problems. Highly recommend Discount Salt Pool and Circupool products.

Circupool is a great company with great products. Going on our 3rd year with the RJ-60, one minor issue fixed under warranty, unit performs like a champ. It's also a very nice looking unit as well. I will buy another one when my current one expires hopefully years from now.

Jim- you are probably right... but a lot of people like to go to Israel to float in the Dead Sea. The salt concentration is probably 20,000x that of the hot tub though!

JZ-I am going to be using the salts in conjunction with a SWG. Supposedly there are health benefits to the skin as well as with absorption of potassium, magnesium, trace minerals, etc through the skin. I don't really know more than reading accounts over the internet, but some very interesting...

At 110 grams/day, it looks like the Megachlor would raise FC in a 350 gallon hot tub by 2 ppm in 30 mins, their level 1 production cycle (110g/day /24hrs /2). With the Chlorine detection holding off the generator until it falls to a preset low (say 2ppm) then turns on for 30 mins and raises FC...
