Advice - minor PVC plumbing adjustment for direct connection to fill pool

LOL - agree, this is my first attempt at plumbing modification but as this is simply a PVC pipe with a fitting and I need it shorter, seemed simply enough. Appreciate any and all guidance.

Advice - minor PVC plumbing adjustment for direct connection to fill pool

The other skimmer has a drain so if the water is too high, it automatically drains from the pool. Wouldn't that solve the issue of water getting to high and then pushing up the supply? Said another way, that hole where water would come directly from the outside facet is higher then the drain.

Advice - minor PVC plumbing adjustment for direct connection to fill pool

Still won't work because of the angle. Once I add a splitter, there isn't enough room for a hose to bend at the angle given the height of the pipe coming out of the ground.

Advice - minor PVC plumbing adjustment for direct connection to fill pool

Pictured is the set up of the pipe that was installed close to the outside water faucet so that I could use a splitter and be able to fill the pool directly when the water is low. Unfortunately it was poorly designed - the angle, height and placement have made it impossible to hook up a a...

Freeze Preparations (TX, LA, GA, AL, FL, etc)

Yes, my biggest concern is power outage. When I lost power in 2021, it came back on pretty quick and I was lucky - - but that was early on in the freeze. As the rolling blackouts continued that lasted hours, I was worried about going to sleep and loosing power so hence proactively opened the...

Freeze Preparations (TX, LA, GA, AL, FL, etc)

What is everyone doing in preparation for the upcoming freeze? Anything difference from Feb 2021? When the 2021 freeze happened, I ended up turning off the pump and draining the equipment as a precaution after loosing power (but it came back on and the pool fired up). I had to replace the pump...

Issues with the wall fitting to connect cleaner - won't stay connected (worn out??)

Hey TFP - On the side wall of my inground pool, there is a place with a fitting where I screw in the hose to connect the pool cleaner. A couple days ago, I noticed the cleaner hose had disconnected and was just floating in the pool. I have tried to reconnect several times, but as soon as the...

Where do you all buy chemicals?

Personally, I dilute the MA in a bucket with some pool water. Never had an issue with spillage, but I'm also not filling the bucket to the top. Bleach and true liquid chlorine does seem to have different %. The smaller the % the more you need to add. I'm at 16K and I find I put about 1 gallon...

New Pool Owner Worried about High CYA

Hi Plano neighbor. GET RID OF THE PUCKS. Who is the pool company? I recently fired Cool Pool People - they were dumping pucks in my pool like crazy - more than even needed for my size pool and simultaneously telling me to get a automatic chlorinator AND do water exchange. The final straw was...

Where do you all buy chemicals?

I see you are from Plano! I'm just from up the road in Frisco. I took over all chemical maintenance several months ago after complete mismanagement and over use of the tablets by local pool cleaning companies. I've been exclusively liquid for 3 months now. I alternate between liquid chlorine...

What product do I use to close this gap between patio paver and flagstone coping?

I have a freeform pool with flagstone coping. The patio surrounding 55% of the pool is pavers. There are a few spots around the pool where there is separation between the pavers and coping (pictured below) and I'm not certain what I should use to fill in this gap. Originally I was thinking self...

Help - 4 tiles and a chunk of mortar just came off!

Here are more pictures. 1. Deep end of the pool with 4 "drains" at the bottom and the deep end waterline skimmer 2. Pool shallow end with waterline skimmer 3 & 4. Pictures of the gap under the flagstone. Again - these are 6" tiles so the total width of the area to be retiled is 24". The gap is...
