We are in the same situation. What kind of paint and acid are you using? We were told to use muriatic acid, but not sure about paint. Any suggestions?

Re: Fine tuning levels They just bought this house with the inground pool last year and the first season had no problems. This year they had an excess amount of rain and a rock got stuck in the hydrostatic valve. The pool then drained itself. it is an inground pool, gunite, 30,000 gallons...

Jason, this is Ruth and I am at my daughter-in-law's house in GA and they have a hydrostatic valve that wont close, do you or anyone else know anything about this? Thanks, Ruth

Thanks, Jason. I just put the Pool Calculator on my iphone and I love it!! But, I can not figure out how to set up my target goal. I put the target on 6.0 and it still shows that Goal: Not Setup. Can you help with that? Ruth

would it be better to switch to the bbb method or keep using the non chlorine products?

The active ingredient is potassium peroxymonosulfate. That is in the sanitizer product. What do you think? We have had this spa for 3 years and it always appears clean and clear. Now I am a little worried. Ruth

The brand name is Leisure Time and it says it is a non-chlorine system and that it contains oxone. Do you know anything about it?

Got in the pool today, it looks amazing! We also have a spa/hot tub, can these same principles be used on a spa? It is a Dimensions One Diplomat and contains 350 gallons. We have been using the spa products that the pool store tells us to use, it is not baquacil, but it is a chlorine free spa. Ruth

Re: Converting Soon I recently converted from Baquacil, my pool is approximately 17,800 gallons, and I used 96 gallons of bleach for the entire process. It is totally worth the conversion, but it is a process, not an overnight project. Ruth

'After aerating all day: PH 7.2 TA 80 Should I do anything else?

I have two test kits to test the PH and just used the other one since there is he discrepancy. The second one looks more like 6.8, so I will aerate.

It looks like the PH this morning is in between the 6.8 and 7.2 shades. I will check again when I get home this evening.

Should I test it tomorrow before aerating? Or start tonight aerating? It is raining right now and does that make any difference?

New test results Finally got to the store to buy muriatic acid to lower the PH. About an hour after adding here are a full set of results FC 4 CC .5 TC 4.5 PH 6.8 TA 80 CYA 40 CH 500 and holding

This evening FC 4 CC .5 TC 4.5 PH 7.2 TA 120 Looks like the TA is coming down nicely. I will get some more Muriatic Acid tomorrow to try and lower it even more, unless you all tell me otherwise.
