I inherited the high CYA from the previous owner. I know I need to do a full drain but since it so hot here is AZ, I need to wait until after the summer when it cools down so that the plaster does not crack. So, I will SLAM the best I can. Any other tips? Thanks.

Hi, I recently had to do a slam due to algee. The algee has been gone for 5 days now and the water looks crystal clear blue. I know my CYA is too high at 120. My TC is now 25. My question is, what is a safe level of TC before we can get back in the pool? Thank you.

Hi, Thanks for the encouragement but, yesterday when I started my drain, I did the diluted CYA test it was in the 200-250 range. So, this still does not make sense to me since I did at least a 75% drain. According to conservative estimates from pool math, I should be at least down to a 75% CYA...

Alright, I am still filling, I have little more than a third of the pool left to fill. I just tested the water again and got: FC - Started at 7 and now is 43 CYA - started around 250 and now is 180 So, I will put another gallon of bleach in before I go to bed.
