Keeping pool sanitized with no working pump

Thank for the info! Water temp is about 68-70 degrees. I don't have a solar cover. I can have someone brush the pool for me and I do have a floater I can put pucks in. I need to test the PH before I leave b/c we had rain recently. Will I get a false reading? It tends to stay high b/c of...

Keeping pool sanitized with no working pump

Why does equipment fail the day before leaving town!?! :( My Hayward Ecostar pump is not working (Drive Error) and I do not have time to deal with that issue until I return on Monday. I have a SWG. If the pool pump is not moving any water through the cell can I pour bleach in the pool to keep...

Light mustard algae but time to cover.

No, just covering it while the leaves fall so my pool stays clean and relatively trouble free. It becomes a second job if I don't cover it. I maintain the chemistry all year but was worried I would under cover it to find a tremendous algae problem b/c I did not get nipped...

Light mustard algae but time to cover.

Not sure but we've had 2 nights well below normal for Dallas so maybe water temp under 68*ish. And my leaf cover is dark so the pool will get very little sun and much cooler.

Light mustard algae but time to cover.

Hi, A tad annoyed b/c it's time to cover my pool and I noticed very light yellow algae on one shaded corner and around eyeballs and returns. New plaster done in March on my salt water pool. Pool looked perfect all Summer then noticed the yellowing a few weeks ago while brushing. I must have...

Installing new booster pump, can I bypass it?

I researched robot cleaners, but like my smart tv, they are expensive. I almost bought the Barracuda MX6 (same cost as the booster pump) but I got hung up on having to remove it to add chemicals and that small debris would go straight to the filters and I hate cleaning those darn things! Why...

Installing new booster pump, can I bypass it?

Hello, I love this website! Everyone is so helpful and I have learned a ton in the past few months! Had to buy a new booster pump, Polaris PB4-60 and will install it myself. My old Hayward 5060 is 10 years old and leaking (been repaired once) so I'm done with it. I have to run the VS pool...

Getting SWG pool levels under control plus pic of soft stone

I should say I will be topping it more often now that it's going to be hitting 100+ soon. Also, my son and his friends splash out quite a bit of water when they play which causes me to add water regularly. :) I'll watch the CH and keep a log. I appreciate all the help! I find the responses...

Getting SWG pool levels under control plus pic of soft stone

I sealed my flagstone yesterday and I happened to notice how fast the stone absorbed the sealer so, unfortunately, it will have to be replaced b/c I will never be able to get enough sealer on it to save what is left. I wanted to add borates to stabilize the PH. several factors make it rise so...

Getting SWG pool levels under control plus pic of soft stone

This is my first post and I'm so appreciative of your expertise and the friendly community! I decided to stop having my water tested at X pool store and buying their chemicals. I bought the suggested Taylor kit and have read a lot of posts on this site. I have learned so much! We never got...
