In two weeks you'll be in that hot tub, gotta wait for the junk to get out of the water for two weeks, or else you could have heater problems. Looks fantastic. Make sure to check the chemicals daily, our pool company person who was responsible only came out a couple of times. The Ph was very...

bleach is typically in the outdoor department with the pool chemicals. Usually along that wall shared with the store. If you found the 2 pack of acid, that's usually where it's at. Wal-mart is my fall back plan as well. --> "Plus we had an issue with our spa valve, and when we would shut the...

One other note, I don't know if it's the measuring tool you are using or not. It shows that CYA should be between 70 and 80. If I'm not mistaken, that's for a salt water pool. For a chlorinated pool (using bleach) it should be lower. I keep mine between 30 and 40. As CYA gets higher it can...

Lowes typically sells chlorine and acid by the case (3 pack). I don't think the price is any cheaper for buying the three pack, but it's definitely easier to move and store (vertically).

If the Nature 2 is free then I'd get it. If you go on vacation for two weeks you might want to use the pucks to keep the chlorine up. I don't use the mineral canister, I just let it run out of the chemicals and left it alone.

One other note, gocubs418. Did they install the Savi LED lights? We had to have them all replaced, started changing colors rapidly, it's a known issue. There is a 2 year warranty on the lights. The older ones required pulling the entire wire through, the new ones only require replacing the...

Depending on how old your heater is, they have a new bypass for the 400K heater. Increases the life of the heater and also reduces the amount of head loss. So far it's worked great. It works with the JXi heater that you have. JXiVFKIT VersaFlo Bypass Accessory Kit for JXi Heaters

I preferred to push the pool builder harder on quality then on timeline, it was winter time. I kept repeating to them that I wanted whatever it took to get in a low maintenance, energy efficient pool. I had a good relationship with the pool builder throughout the process and feel that we have...

They will have to tear down parts of the fence to get their vehicles into your yard. They took down the entire section of fence along the alleyway to get the excavator and bobcat in. Also, 3 months is very aggressive, they started our pool in October and finished in late April. My philosophy...

-Jandy 60 SqFt DE Filter with Sight Glass on Backwash line to P-Trap We bought the biggest filter we could find to keep the back pressure down in the system and also to reduce how often we have to clean the filters. We also went with cartridge filters and have had no issues with cloudiness in...

Too Many Options for a Pool in Hamilton

My 2 cents worth. We steered away from SWG, it definitely has it's advantages but we discovered after talking to our neighbors that the salt does damage to the coping and grout over time. SWG is easier to maintain, that's true. The chlorine pucks are a no-no in our household unless the CYA...

Hopefully you got the iAquaLink. If you did, make sure to get the 8 device version (it's a software upgrade that can be applied over the internet). We used the 8 and hooked up a stenner chlorine and muratic acid pump to the control panel. Over the last two months we've tuned in the Chlorine...

    Spa Blower issues

I thought I'd post the resolution to the issue. The hartford loop was at least an inch below the water line and the plumber had used two sweep 90s. Water flowed back into the air pipe after turning off the air blower, the water filled up the pipe enough that it constricted the flow of air...

    Spa Blower issues

The person who supervised the construction came out today. Fortunately I have a good relationship with him. He agreed that there is either an obstruction or that the Hartford loop is to close to the waterline. Before demolishing anything they will pressurize the line (after removing the...

Voltage: Hot to Hot is 242V (checked just now) Current: when verified the other day both sides were about 75% over the rated amperage, I got this number after running the blower for 30 seconds

    Spa Blower issues

Thought about this issue a bit more. The hartford loop is installed in the side of the spa. The distance from the top of the water to the top of the spa is 3". Take away 2" for the size of the pipe and we end up with a hartford loop that is a maximum of 1" above the water line. There is no...

    Spa Blower issues

I think so. The blower uses 240 and there are two 120V lines running to the blower. It's on the same power as the pumps which use 240V. What should I be looking for?

    Spa Blower issues

Well, the hartford loop is present which is the good news. But the challenges continue. They installed the newest blower from the vendor, at least it shut down instead of melting the pipe. We ran a current check on both of the power lines that were going into the unit, the amperage was twice...

    Spa Blower issues

Further investigation and discussions with the pool builder indicate that they did install a Hartford loop in the spa, it looks nothing like what the manual has but it's there. They provided details on how to identify the loop. It's actually embedded in the spa wall without a check valve. I...

    Spa Blower issues

we use freeze protection, did so this year. It wasn't cold long enough to cause problems. But a few years back it was below freezing for five days, lots of problems including some of our friends having in excess of $5000 damage to some of their pool products. I would rather be cautious and...

    Spa Blower issues

The water in the spa will be 18" above the ground because the spa is raised. Why would the water not match up with the water in the spa? Seems like the water in the pipe and the water in the spa would try to reach equilibrium (in other words, be level). We got down to 11 this year, so there's...

    Spa Blower issues

I meet with the PB tomorrow. So your questions caused me to re-evaluate what's going on. I went outside, turned on the air blower, it actually came on. Ran for about 2 minutes, very little air in the spa and then it shut off. I'm guessing it got hot? I don't think there is enough room...
